That may be the case I was just guessing really. I have looked at this staff for a few days and have come up with this.

HC: Dooley
OC: Chaney
DC: Wilcox
ST: Russell
QB: Chaney
RB: Hinshaw
OL: Hiestand
WR: Baggett
DL: Smith
LB: Thompson/Wilcox
DB: Joseph

Obviously, most of these were obvious. The only two that are making me think are QB and RB. Even then Chaney has worked with OL for alot of his career. However, he does have a history of coaching QB but it was early in his career at Cal State Fullerton.

I can't get away from thinking Chaney will coach QB and Hinshaw RB. Hinshaw has a history of coaching RB and QB. Chaney has a history of QB, OL, WR, and TE.

Why do you think Joseph over Thompson as RC? I reallize he was RC at La Tech, but seems like Thompson is more "quailified."

I think Joseph will be more of a RC than a DB coach. Wilcox will be coaching the DB's more than Joseph will. Joseph will spend the majority of his time recruiting.

Being the best recruiter doesn't make you Recruiting Coordinator material. The Recruiting Coordinator is typically the one who is the most organized and can communicate with the staff and the Athletic Department the best.

It's like you read my mind. :)

Seriously though, all the positions are assigned and the way Spring and myself listed it, is the way it's going to be.

I think Dooley will work with the rb's & Chaney more with qb's. Everything else looks good though.

Has a slow release...awkwardly holds the ball when he drops back tilting it backwards...very strange...never seen that before. Throws from the hip. Love to see him throw when receivers are covered/ zone type skeleton drill. Its a whole lot different throwing accurately with shoulder pads and a helmet on. Puts a whole new fundamental on throwing the ball. Can't get away with throwing so close to the body

P.S. my opinion is just my opinion and I am NO expert by any means and don't claim to be!:shades:

You know what they say about great minds...

And, seriously, people, we aren't guessing or forming our opinion. This is it.

Coach Chaney will coach the running backs in addition to being the Offensive Coordinator. Hinshaw will coach Quarterbacks.

I have a question that I've never understood: Why would we put Cheney, someone who has never played RB or associated with it much, to coach the RBs? I have never understood the concept of someone who never played a specific position coaching that position. Another example is Tee Martin coaching WRs at Kentucky.

To me, this seems like someone who is a guitar player trying to teach piano lessons...doesn't make sense to me.

How much experience does Chaney have with RB's? I can't remember seeing it anywhere in his coaching experience, although I'm sure he'll manage fine. Great football mind in that guy.
