Run the ball!!!

These are the words I was screaming at the tv during the UCLA game and these are the words that the Vols should follow this season.

If you run the ball you keep it away from the opponent. You wear down their defense in the 2nd half. You control the game.

Against UCLA we averaged 5.2 yards per carry. Against UAB we averaged 6.5 yards per carry.

If the Vols commit to running the football and playing good defense they can win a lot of games this year.

They must take some responsibility off of Crompton and lean on the running game. This is the only way to compete with teams like Florida and Georgia.

It's sad that UT has to mask a QB deficiency by trying to run the ball more. That being said, I do agree. We need to run run run run and run some more on UF. Keep Tebow and co. off the field, and try to wear their defense down.

I can see Crompton looking like a deer in headlights against UF. Wait until we go on the road to UGA.

Yeah,
I was yelling "run Forrest run" too.
It is a bit confusing why we did not run more, especially since it appeared to work.
In the 80's Johnny Majors would run against bammer when it was not working.
Now we have the opposite problem.

we have a very good running game if we just continue to run like we did against UAB and get a better passing game we can be pretty good. Defense needs to be a little better but their okay.

We have a good running game, but Clawson's an idiot and tries to get Crompton into rhythm and it doesn't work. Just run the ball 50 times and pass 20.

You know, the first thing that impressed me about DC was the statements that he made in the offseason that"I will put the ball in the hands of the best playmakers"and"I've won championships with the passing game and with the running game,whatever it takes to win."Well, Dave, I don't think you're sticking to your own game plan.I'm not impressed anymore.He just seems so hell-bent on passsing plays even when it's not working-I mean 41 of 19 UCLA and 31 of 19 UAB COME ON! That's just under 50% if- my math is correct-in games that we should've won big.I don't know if DC is trying to loosen JC up or what,but I DON'T THINK SO DAVE! IMO the only way we make it through the SEC with few scabs is IN YOUR GRILL,SMASH MOUTH,RUN IT DOWN YOUR THROAT FOOTBALL! Run to set the pass,not the other way around.MH is a HOSS. AF is a very strong back too-if he listens to SD and tightens his elbow,hell bungee cords or velcro works pretty good-LC shows Lamarcus Coker type speed and making people miss-hope thats the only simalarities-We've got talented recievers but if they have to second-guess the route in fear of the ball saling or turning a post pattern into a corner because JC was hurried it takes away confidence and/or concentration.JC is not ready to throw 30 or 40 passes in a game.Maybe next year.I just hope DC and JC are saving somthing for when it counts,and that time is NOW!
