If I'm Pruitt, I'm on the phone with Chip asking him to hold off. Maybe by tomorrow he can find out if the BOT will ever get their panties out of a wad about Freeze.

Kinda like how Saban would probably ask Freeze to wait until Locksley hears from Maryland. Everyone wants to blame the BOT, but it could be Maryland causing the delay.

One thing for sure - he won't be back at Auburn.

Linky
"The team’s offense finished the regular season ranked 67th nationally in rushing (164.1 yards per game), 88th in passing (209.5), 75th in passing efficiency (131.19), 71st in scoring (28.3 points per game) and 102nd nationally on third downs (35.8 percent)."

Come on down to Rocky Top, sir!!!

Hiring the guy Auburn just fired would look pretty pathetic. I’m worried that means they’re getting Freeze.

Good if that means Freeze is in, bad if it means it's Friend

Not sayin he's eliminated but I haven't heard his name floated around as a likely candidate since 27 Nov.

As far as I know the short list is: Lindsey, Enos, Freeze and Drinkwitz.

The BoT has nothing to do with this hire. Boyd said as much several days ago.

Pruitt's like "Dang, wish I won just one more game, for a bowl, to divert VN away from this hire."

I guess I'm the only one that would be good with getting Lindsey as oc, Gus ran the offense at Auburn and is his offense not Lindseys. He's a good coach and a good recruiter. I'm good with Freeze as well so either of those 2 are good hires

You know how this works as much as I do. We were all thinking Curry was working on something amazing last year and he fed us Schiano. We thought Butch was going to hire Mark Helfrich and he hired Larry Scott.

Logic says you're right. How often are our coaching hires logical, though?

In both cases, those hires cost the jobs of those who hired them.

And how much of that is Gus Malzahn interference?
