Rumors: Reid Sigmon to interim AD

Didnt Haslam and Sigmon clash when Haslam apparently wanted to hire Schiano to the Browns in '13? I think thats what led to Sigmon leaving then. Someone correct me if Im wrong, on phone dont feel like googling.

according to the peter king SI article from 2014, that was banner, not sigmon.

Bill Belichick and Urban Meyer were strong in recommendations for fired Tampa Bay coach Greg Schiano—Belichick called twice—and here’s where I hear there was a major rift in the organization. Banner wanted nothing to do with Schiano. Haslam was intrigued with him after the over-the-top recommendation from Belichick. The group flew to Tampa to interview Schiano, and one source said Banner was cold to Schiano, not participating much in the interview. Banner likely thought Schiano would be a disastrous hire, given all the negatives in recent Cleveland history. He was probably right, but the owner was open to it, and when the owner’s open to it, the man running football operations should at least consider it.

Reid is 10 Times the man that Currie is. If he becomes interim, I trust in him and his ability to make smart, sound decisions for the short term.

Yes, but will they be decisions best for the long term success of our Athletic Dept.? If he is indeed Haslams crony, n/m thinking of someone else...
Carry on, I need to get back to work..

no no no. i don't care how good of guy he is. he's anoter haslam guy. worked for currie at every stop. worked for haslam at the browns.

this would be awful.

We will know at the press conference today if there is a future for UT sports. If it is Blackburn or Fulmer, we should be in a lot better shape. If Sigmon, that means Haslam still has full control. Haslam is just like Jerry Jones minus his football knowledge.

This sentence structure depicts direct knowledge. We are screwed if this happens and nothing changes on Hill .. And actually worse off than I thought

not today. fullmer standing at that podium is what you want. if it's not him, you'll never see anyone of blackburn's ilk as AD.

and i doubt seriously they're appointing a permanent AD today.

if it's sigmon, it's over. and it's just more of the same.

today, you want Fulmer standing there.

Supposed to just name the interim, not the permanent.

Until the Haslams are out of the picture, we’ll be the laughingstock of football. #FireHaslam #GoHomeHaslams

In an attempt to NOT be a mindless part of the mob mentality, I have not a single clue about this guy. I don't know who he is or whether or not if he's capable of conducting this coaching search.

he was hired by Currie as his helper... title is "executive associate athletics director and chief operating officer"

It's gonna be nice to do a lot of hiking on Saturdays next fall. My son is due in June, and I'm sad I won't get to introduce him to UT football though.
