I disagree. If he KEEPS him, that would not reflect well on him as a coach. Our offense has been dismal.Helton will not be fired after one season. He may choose to leave, although I am not sure who would hire him away from Tennessee, but if CJP fired him after one season it would not reflect well on him as a coach
How many reasons you want? For one, it takes two years for ANY system to take hold. Year two for any HC is considered the magical year, I can give you 20 names plus, that is because the system is in place and clicks, first year, Everyone is learning, year two, you can execute and play much faster and it becomes instinctive, if you fire a coordinator after one year, you are throwing out the baby with the dirty water, TN will have to start over again. Two, recruiting, still some big fish that Helton was very involved with, including 2 5-star linemen. Three, word gets around, high profile coordinators will be hesitant to come to Tn knowing they don’t have the normal time to implement their system (takes two years), want me to name more reasons?Why ?
