A lot of murmurs about Phil Fulmer getting the HC job for atleast a year or two until they sort things out. How true are these ? Is it just twitter stuff that got blown after Khalil McKenzie tweeted a picture of Phil in a nice orange tie ? or any substance behind these ?

I like Fulmer. I believe he will work like heck to make Tennessee great again.

That being said, I don't believe anyone or any rumor right now.

Noooooooooooooooooooo! No more rumors or inside info!

Lots of Nostrodomases on VN now.

Bottom line nobody knows what coach we will end up with or if it will hurt recruiting or not.

That being said, my sources say it will NOT be Shiano. 😂

I am warming to the idea of this... At this point, we are not getting a proven winner and whatever no-name "up and comer" we hire will make UT pay out the nose and demand a huge buyout. I'd rather hand the reigns back to Fulmer for a couple of years until things settle down instead of blowing a ton of money on someone that we'll end up buying out in a few years anyways.

We are not going to have a lot of options after Schiano. It's going to be a complete roll of the dice gamble (Tee or upside guy) or a safe/conservative hire (Miles, Fulmer, Cutcliffe.)

This weekend changed everything and will have a polarizing effect on the Tennessee job. Not to mention that there are about half dozen jobs open or opening to compete against.

Hell I said it just rehire Fulmer bring in a staff that will kill it here, Currie already retreaded Snyder at Kansas St might as well bring Fulmer back from the dead and maybe it will bring VN back.. who knows.. frustrated like everyone else

If you were a, say, >=60% winning college coach with zero affiliation to the PS program, would you really be concerned that Tennessee decided against one with affiliation to the PS scandal-documents and a 68-67 record at Rutgers?

There is GREAT OPPORTUNITY HERE and it is John Currie's job, to shed a good-light of the Fan's enthusiasm for winning football with integrity, to this next football head coach hire.

A stop gap coach isn't going to improve recruiting because there will too many unknowns. If the UT AD places Fulmer back in charge, they need to do it for 4-5 years and have the replacement already on staff imho

I’m think a Fuller/Cut is probably what needs to happen. There is a lot going on in the AD that needs fixed before we make the next hire. Don’t want to bring in a coach and then hire an AD. That coach wouldn’t be the ADs “guy”. For us to be successful, the power structure needs to be changed.

Fulmer HC
Tee Martin OC/ Head Coach in waiting
Steele or Chavis

This would be better than any FCS coaching hire

I like it give him a three year deal, bring in Tee as head coach in waiting. Get yourself a great defensive coordinator and lets recruit like heck!

It’s probably better than anything our admin can conjure up at this point.

Worked for K-State with Snyder...
