Rumored: UF to suspend Will Grier

Hopefully this will motivate the Vols into playing better the second half of the season. Even with a loss to Bama we can still win the East but with some help.

True. But, these guys are told to check with medical staff before taking anything on their own.

Grier should have known better

What he took wasn't the OTC supplement that was being reported. UF has confirmed this, but won't say what the substance was without Grier's consent.

What is this OTC stuff that suddenly makes it unfair to compete in the SEC. Want. No....NEED!

It would be a three way tie and work down this order

(Note: If one of the procedures results in one team being eliminated and two remaining, the two-team tiebreaker procedure as stated in No. 1 above will be used):
A. Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams
B. Record of the tied teams within the division
C. Head-to-head competition against the team within the division with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non-divisional) and proceeding through the division (multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last and a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place)
D. Overall Conference record against non-divisional teams
E. Combined record against all common non-divisional teams
F. Record against the common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non-divisional) and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division; and
G. Changed: Combined SEC record of the team’s cross-divisional opponents

Clear as mud.

I don't understand. If we have one division loss (Fla) one sec west loss (ark) and one non conference loss, how would it look if Fla looses to Ga, LSU and FSU. If GA ties FLa and we tie Ga wouldn't our win against Ga trump?

It would be a three way tie and work down this order

(Note: If one of the procedures results in one team being eliminated and two remaining, the two-team tiebreaker procedure as stated in No. 1 above will be used):

1)How each team did among the vs the other two tied teams

2) Division Record of each tied team

3) Head-to-head competition against the team within the division with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non-divisional) and proceeding through the division (multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last and a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place)

4) Overall record against opposite division teams

5) How they did against all common opposite division teams

6)Record against the common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non-divisional) and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division

7) Combined SEC record of the opposite division opponents played by each team.

Lots of stuff is banned

I think I remember something about the original Muscle Milk having GH precursors and had to change their formula.

Caffeine is banned-- about 12 cups of coffee in 2 hours would test positive

Keep in mind, Harris and Grier were in a tight battle deep in to camp, Harris started the first game over Grier. UT fans know firsthand that Harris is capable. Florida is well-coached, thus, Harris will be well-coached. Don't be surprised if this galvanizes Florida and they beat LSU.

Also, their D-coordinator Collins, held Fournette to 38 yards last year while coaching Miss State. I guarantee you he has better athletes at Florida.

...that this kid was juiced and a fan knew during the MO game? If anyone on the team knew that administered the test, then the head coach should have known. Doesn't it boil down to if the coach knew or should have known? This is then an institutional control issue. At the very least the MO win should be vacated. That, btw, should not count as a win for MO, but makes the race very very interesting.:salute:

I think UT has a great shot at the east now depending on how well they play next week against Bama

Great avatar btw! Titans sure could use a leader like #9

Kids have to know that being a high profile starter makes you a bigger target for testing. I know when I played our studs and first stringers got popped a lot more than we did. And I got tested more my senior year as starter than all the other years combined.

(I played for Carson Newman. I know it's not D1 but still is governed by a body with strict rules and guidelines.)

That's insane. Why would punishments be different based on who administered the test?

Part of the problem, though, is the conference (read as the schools involved) have to agree on a common procedure/punishment system as far as all the schools go.

And it's been difficult to get all the schools to agree on a uniform system for it (every school likes their own...and some like that they have more leeway than others).

Richt and Georgia tried for a few years in a row to get something more uniform put into place across the conference. However, it mostly fell on deaf ears from the other schools.
