Rumor That UNC Will Force Vols

we have about 71 scholarship players. Might as well be
It is actually worse isn't it?
We currently have 75 scholarship players. Assuming that Loften and Jackson don't make it in that will leave us with 73. Of those 73 players, 14 are seniors, leaving us with 59 going in to 2011. If we take a full recruiting class we should be back close to the 85 scholarship limit.

i agreed with dooley and hamilton (ps i kinda dont like how dooley is throwing hamilton under the bus when asked about this like he didint agree with hamilton) about getting rid of unc. but if they are forcing our hand then we should bring the wrath of god apon that retched school.....

This is what would make vol fans sick and not saying it will happen. But what if Tn plays Buffalo and they dont make a BCS bowl or NC game because of strength schedule and they look back and the North Carolina buyout was the deciding factor.
I know Tn is not going to be playing for a BCS or NC game but Im just saying.

I'll have to say that I've generally stayed out of the general MH fight, for the most part. Have assumed that there are many, many details that I (we) aren't privy to which disqualify us from having a valid opinion on his decisions, etc.

But if he announced/leaked this before a buyout was signed, sealed and delivered (at least a 'done deal'), then I have no support or sympathy for him. It's at least arguable whether it makes sense to buyout UNC, because there's some bad (PR hit, pride) and some good (possible bowl/extra practice). But, if you jump the gun and sign up for the bad and then have to play the game anyway, you would be incompetant.

Not saying I believe this - it's a rumor at this point and the buyout might've been agreed upon before any of this came out. Might be a negotiating ploy if the $$ isn't settled, even. But if he put us in this position and then it falls through, he doesn't have the judgment to be the AD. (Big IF - we don't yet know).

We don't know whether Bama would have wimped out of the game if Penn State didn't comply. We only know that about UT. UNC is no Penn State in football. Penn State did not need to beat Bama to demonstrate their worth to the sport. UNC does need to do that to UT. So, it's logical that they'd want to play the game. Spin it however you like. UT paid good money to avoid playing UNC.

But was it to avoid playing UNC or to further prepare for whoever else? You really think anyone in the AD is "scared" of UNC? **** no. How many of our players got destroyed by Ohio last year? Who cares, stop thinking this is a big deal. We play UNC, we win in 2011. We should be doing them a favor.

I say we play the in 2011 and 2012. In 2011 we should play them in North Carolina let them have there fun. The in 2012 when we are build up in every area they come to Neyland we show why that there is no conference like the SEC. So it's all good beside they need this series more than we do. North Carolina and Tennessee are on two different path. North Carolina is trying to get to football promise and Tennessee is trying to GET BACK. That the reason they need it more than we do.

Is there an echo up in here? :hi:

It's disrespectful to the men who served and died to earn the state its nickname.

Texas would still be part of Mexico if Mike Hamilton traded places in history with Davy Crockett. The question is really whether or not he'd given them Louisiana and Mississippi.

I would say equating an AD's decision regarding scheduling with fighting and dying for a just cause is more disrespectful.

Call me crazy.

I've already admitted it was 'over the top.' :horse:

I mostly want Mike Hamilton fired. Why is that proving so difficult?
