Covering means getting down field, staying in lanes, taking proper angles of pursuit. Tackling is its own fundamental all together. You can cover a kick perfectly, yet still blow it when it comes time to make the stop.
wrong again. a true idiot, i should just stay over on the recruiting forum. i guess me posting about peterman on here literally minutes after he called our coaches was luck too? i caught some heat over that one, noone knew about it, not even the omighty hubbs.
That could be said for most anyone who breaks a story including some of the biggest media guys. Why don't you ignore Skeeter if you really care nothing for his information. Majority of us on this site enjoy the information he provides.
Don't worry with responding to me. I plan to ignore you as I have DrunkJohnny as soon as I hit "Submit Reply."
For Gods sake you all know pulling **** out of your ass. Anyone that talks about punt coverage also includes tackling as part of the equation. You guys sound like Dooley talking.
It's not my fault you and DJ have a very limited understanding of the game of football. Covering is one thing, tackling is another. Just like a receiver can run a good route, and still drop a pass. A dropped pass doesn't mean the route sucked.
Agreed. The what ifs from this season are staggering. Injuries, guys getting kicked off the team... god forbid we see yet another case of the injury bug, we'll see what everyone is made of next year.Maybe, but it sure did hurt. I like Bray but if we are honest he rolled stats against the have nots. We have yet to see a quality win from him either.
So you can play good defense without tackling anyone? Correct?
No artard. Covering the kick is a PART of the punt, just like tackling is a PART of playing defense. Go to any football locker room when they are watching film of punt teams. They will say, "Hey, great punt coverage on that, now wrap up and finish the play!!!". I've heard that exact phrase more times than I ever wanted to, but it definitely stuck in my head that covering and tackling are two seperate acts. Now quit being intentionally ignorant for the sake of making people's blood boil.
