I'm surprised John Adams isn't the guy with the inside track to the AD's office with the scoop on this story. j/k

The AD should never talk to Adams or his clowns ever again, IMHO. Let Adams cover the Pop Warner league in Knoxville.

UT should pick a sportswriter who supports them and let the information leak through that person. I'd start with whoever is the best and most likely replacement for Adams to help hasten his retirement.

Maybe not, but you sure posted A LOT in that rumor thread. I'm just sayin' it sure felt like you were a spoon and the Vols were a kettle! Seems like it was the most we'd heard from you (at one time) since, well - last September!

Why all this hostility? I did not start the rumor. I did not start the thread. Initially, lots of folks on here (not just me) were wondering if this had any effect on the regular season success. It has since been explained that the problem, if there were one, would be a violation of an SEC rule regarding progress towards a degree and that, by rule, the sanction is losing post-season eligibility. Thus, there would be no effect on the regular season, even if it were true. No controversy over your wins, no asterisk on your SEC championship. Nothing.

And since then, we've heard from a reliable member of the VN community that he has it, albeit indirectly, from the horse's mouth that its not true, anyway. I realize that folks will be a little antsy about it until the post-season begins. I can understand that. But there's nothing you can do about it and the only even semi-official word we have is that it is not true.

Your team is going to embarrass us tonight in our own house as you celebrate your first SEC basketball title in eons (maybe ever?). Isn't that enough?

I just talked to his sister's ex-boyfriend and he confirms that this is just a rumor.

Incidentally, looked at a couple of other boards this morning and they are all saying the same thing: that your AD says its not true.

Hey! It's almost 11 here in the east. Why hasn't anyone posted the baseless rumor of the day? Maybe it was just an oversight. I bet if we ask nicely we could make this a sticky so we can find it easier each day.

Just CONFIRMED:

My local sports radio show is not reporting that none of the players have not been suspended.

Just confirmed:

The voices in my head are reporting that Jordan Howell is in fact the player that's ineligible.
