Rumor Going Around That

How can they recruit for their current schools knowing they are leaving? I find this a bit hard to believe.

Why does anyone think that Searles will make a lateral move to UT? What's the point? Yankee Doodle Dooley should have made a point to keep Cregg--our run blocking last year, with walk-ons, was better than it had been in a DECADE. I'm not sure Dooley realized that...Not having an OL or DC is certainly not helping our recruiting and probably doing the opposite.

Because they get paid by the university and they have a responsibility to that university. This is not hard for me to understand.

No one likes to leave a job at a critical point in a project. If you do this and you are a coach, it is very public and may have a negative impact on future career opportunities. The ADs don't care if you supposedly stranded some guys that wanted to play for you, but they do care if you left a former employer up the creek.

If kids are commiting based solely on a single assistant, particularly a good one that might be in demand, they are being foolish. The turnover rate on assistants is very high. They leave all the time. This is no secret.

There is room in all of this to think providing some protection for your employer, even though you are leaving, is the right thing to do. After all is this not our main beef with the three stooges? Had Kiffpon waited until after EE like he told Hamilton he would, things would have been much different.

It is debatable that a new hire at this point would do much at this point anyway. It might even cause a Brandon Willis type freakout. A guy changing positions four days before NSD this is not that big of a deal on the new school's end but might be ont he old school's end.

It's already too late for this years class. Won't make any difference.

There are plenty of reasons why people make "lateral moves".

The concept is not hard for me to understand either. However, the realities of it would be hard and anyone who thinks otherwise is naive.

For example, if Searles is recruiting an OL for Georgia, and the kid asks him about the rumor, what's he going to say? It's not true? Or will he say, that doesn't matter, I am recruiting you for UGA. That would be a subtle hint to the kid --intentional or otherwise.

It may work in theory but there are way too many gray areas floatung around.

If Da'Rick Rogers is going to sign with UT, my guess is that our coaches already knows it. I also bet, if that is the case Rogers knows Searles is coming. Rogers is not going to say anything, because he doesn't want the pressure of the Georgia homers in Calhoun pressuring him. JMO....

Chaney will coach OL after the hiring of the qb coach. Otherwise, we will not have a RB coach on this team unless the new DC coaches DL too. That leaves the defensive staff spread really thin with 3 coaches. The line was good last year because they had 3 coaches; Chaney, Cregg, and Browning.

On second thought, replace Ausmus with her,, could be our secret recruiting tool if you could work out with her every day.

I don't understand. Why is he waiting? To help his former team? Why wouldn't he come now and help his chances at success with UT. I have heard the same speculation on here about Kevin Steele.
These future/possible assistant coaches are not waiting on their own. It's up to CDD and the University to announce the hire. I think CDD already know who is entire staff will be. He is focused solely on recruiting and not announcing his staff. I wouldn't be surprised if recruits haven't been told who will be their position coach.

Thats a good call bro! I didnt even think about if he were to decide now the UGA homers would talk smack and pressure him but if he waits til NSD he can atleast avoid it for a couple weeks.

If all of this is true, and the whole staff is hired and waiting for NSD and the recruits know who it is ... Dooley is ALOT like Saban. We might as well pack up shop on the recruiting threads because nothing is ever getting to get out about anything.
