[RUMOR] Dormady leaving the team [Update: at practice today]

South Carolina started a first time qb last season against us.....that turned out ok for the COCKS

Is a Butch hater someone who thinks it's time for a coaching change because our hc isn't getting it done? If so, sign me up. I think most like the man but hate the results.

No. I think it's very fair to be disappointed in the results and to want a coaching change and I don't disagree with anyone who does.

The constant deriding and blaming of every little thing that happens is ridiculous.

Case in point

Volnation clamors for JG to start
Butch starts JG
QD decides to transfer
Volnation blames butch

You can't make this stuff up

Well, at this rate the next coach will have a sufficient stockpile of excuses to get him through the next five years.
So, he's got that going for him.

This....all Currie is doing by allowing Butch to stay is creating more problems for the new staff...AKA Team Gruden.

This seems like the kid got made cause he lost his spot and decided he is just going to leave.

After crap storm JG got for his attitude during the GT game, and for people to defend QD for this is even crazier.

LOL... hardly. JG got beaten out.... but his coach continued to support him and push for him to be the starter. QD won the job and could never get the support of his HC.

QD probably just realizes that it was all a sham and that he was misled because Jones didn't want to enter the season with a RS Fr and true Fr as his only two options.

Maybe he should have taken a cue from Hurd and known that Jones was not above misleading a player about changes on the offense in order to keep them on the team? But that's hardly a reason you condemn HIM.

I can refresh any forum on this website and find a new thread containing a new piece of bad information right about now. Incredible. Yet.... here we are with Jones still in control.

:whistling: The last vestige of "like the man" is fadin fast...

So its the players fault huh?
Guess they were paper champions of life huh butch?

Guess the "heart" rankings are overrated too huh?
Maybe jumper is the only true 5* champion of life on the team

Problem is 100% butch

I didn't say it was the players fault. What I SAID was I WISH they would wait until the end of the season. It doesn't reflect well on them. You saw how we bashed Hurd when he left. I don't blame the players AT ALL, but it is bigger than Butch. Don't leave your brothers in the middle of the season. The truth will come out, but don't leave your teammates hanging in the wind.

That's all I said. You're ridiculous.

Maybe because he has performed better than JG in practice since the competition started... and performed better than JG in games... and feels that he was betrayed by his coach who wouldn't get behind him once he WON the job?

I kind of figured it was over though I didn't think he'd transfer until maybe after the season. UT was struggling against UMass. QD made mistakes. The OL didn't block well. The WR's were pathetic. UMass was loading up against the run and hitting UT from all angles with run blitzes.

Then... Scott started calling short passes. QD hit several of them. Running lanes opened. UT scored on its last two drives of the 1st half and then one of the first two in the second half with the other being stopped by a penalty.

Jones benched QD. After the game, he explained it by saying he thought the offense "needed a spark". That spark? Three drives totaling 10 yards. JG was 2 for 5 for -3 yards. He had 4 carries for 0 yards.

Now after performing about as poorly vs UGA as JG did against UMass... Dormady is being benched.

Dormady DID play poorly vs UGA. He was NOT the primary problem with the O in the first 4 games.

Situation smacks of a desperation move by Butch. Pressure is on him to make the change. Really has nothing to lose at this point. Roll the dice and maybe JG goes off and we beat SC. If he doesn't, Butch was toast anyway. Just sad our program is in this position....again. Never say never but I'd be shocked if we manage 6 wins with things the way they stand. No leaders and the coaches seem ill equipped to right the ship.

I don't believe, as it's coached or called, CBJs offensive system can win consistently in the SEC. It hasn't worked when required. Whether Dormady goes and JG plays, it won't matter much. Another indicator will be a beat down by Bama in a week and a half.

Scary part is to think CBJ may still believe his system does work, that it is infallible. If so he will never become a competitive P5 coach. He needs to truly evaluate himself, his offensive philosophy and beliefs, if he is to continue to evolve. My suggestion is to trash his entire offensive scheme, do a 4 year study, and come back with something that has passed the test on the field, on game day. :mf_surrender:

I don't blame Dormady at all. If Butch was a good coach he would fit his scheme with his players. it's comical we run a read option with a QB who can't run to save his life. It's not even a read option it's a guaranteed handoff to Kelly.

But most of y'all stood on every book, chair, or soapbox and screamed QD could run. Some went even as far as to say he was better than JG. Furthermore, Butch gave him chance after chance to get even marginally better and he didn't. You could blame butch if he only gave him 1 game to prove himself. It's all on QD
