The blurb below was taken from Profootballtalk.com today. If it's true, it sounds promising . . . .

KEEP AN EYE ON TENNESSEE, TOO

One of our friends in the media advises us that SEC guru Scott Moore said on Steve Czaban's FOX Sports Radio show this morning that, if Tennessee loses to Georgia this weekend, Phil Fulmer won't be back in 2008 as coach of the Volunteers.

If that happens, Moore said emphatically that the two primary candidates to replace him will be Jon Gruden and Bill Cowher.

Though Gruden is most often linked at the college level to Notre Dame, his wife was a Tennessee cheerleader. And with the money being paid to college coaches skyrocketing, it might not be much of a hit, if any, to the change purse for Gruden, if he leaves the NFL.

What? Jon Gruden's wife was a Tennessee cheerleader?

Next thing you know he'll be buying property in Sevier County.

Nothing different from what a lot of people have been speculating- other than that you forgot to mention how Gruden owns property in Jefferson County.

Apparently, SEC Guru Scott Moore, is a frequent visitor here at VolNation.

As much as I want to think that will happen (with or without a loss to UGA) part of me wonders if some of these pundits are getting their "scoop" from reading this and other boards. Maybe they are just parroting what they read?

Seems like lazy speculation to me. I could have written an article like that.

My friend who is a Bucs fan sent this to me this morning asking how "true" I thought it was...I had a good laugh.

Did anyone see the second name listed? Bill Cowher. Although I would find this highly unlikely. How awsome would that be? Cowher spiting all over the place. He is a hard nosed coach that couls really straiten the program out.

The rumor that Fulmer had to win out to safe his job has already been floating around this board.

:hi:Welcome aboard! Good post. Be ready for the kamazee attacks from the few yet remaining Fulmer deciples left here for inferring that their idol could possibly be on the hot seat!
