I do not like fulmer and i think that he needed to go, but to say someone with that kind of record and a ring is mediocre is a little crazy. He might have become mediocre but at one time phil was a great coach and a great recruiter.Quote:

Big deal. Larry Coker and Les Miles have a ring too. That doesn't mean I think they can coach.

I've heard that the key part of him coming here was Nance's commitment. With Nance on board Steele knows that this would be a great situation because the pressure would be off his defense. A Nance led offense would put up 35-40ppg so Steele knows he could play a more aggressive style, something that recruits would love.
Geeze, lay off the guy. That actually makes some kind of sense to me..and who knows? its all speculation at this point
Fulmer was a great recruiter AT ONE TIME. He NEVER was a good coach. EVER
If you dont think that Fulmer was a good coach, then look at his numbers as the OC under majors. Also, HIS decision to promote Chavis to DC, HIS decision to make Cut the OC. Showed too much loyalty to some deadwood staff towards the end. Thats what cost him the chance to see if Clawsons offense would improve in the second year, which they always have.
