Rucker article on the players

It's good to see that Rucker has turned into Griff 2.0 with this garbage. I hardly think that it's breaking news that the players are saying they would like Pearl to stay.

I agree. The article is a little misleading because it's not like they are demanding Pearl to stay or they'll leave. They feel probably like anyone else would in that situation. Nobody knows who they are going to be playing for next year so of course your going to be concerned. But I sure wish we had some people that played ball at UT that had the same UT pride as Skyler McBee. I got down on him all season for being McBrick but his UT pride is 2nd to none on this team it seems like.

That's just your stock end of the year with the coach in limbo story. No surprise that players would defend their coach. Rucker had to write it.

That combined with the incessant ass kissing of Pearl on Twitter the last couple of days comes dangerously close to being Griffithesque.

I think his tweet associated with the article definitely borders on sensationalizing what is really a pretty mundane story.

Vols' players: If Pearl is out, we might follow.

Not anything unusual. Typical article whenever a coach's job is in question.

Too bad Rucker didn't ask them how they felt about the bean-counter apologizing to them last week. Might've been an interesting read.

No joke! Rucker is absolutely getting to me. Still points out how he calls it down the middle though. Never even mentioned the risk of keeping Pearl. Media in Knox are not accurately representing the dynamics of the situation. Also, Fulmer's guys said same stuff then fell in love with Kiffin. Lofton was gonna leave, all players say that. Only 2 players said they would prob leave if he left, and Rucker or Griff wrote about those 2 yesterday.

OK - there are 4 seniors leaving. That leaves Harris and Hopson as to any real value left. They may leave anyway and at best are only here for another year - which would be played without Pearl as their head coach anyway. The rest should be very happy to even be on the team as they did not show themselves to be all that worthy of the schollie this year.

This is really getting silly.

Sounds like the players and the reasonable majority of fans are willing to forgive Pearl and balance the good and the bad the man has done. And the good includes more than winning ball games.

A lot of stretching the quotes and comments from a bunch of young men who just got gutted and face a coaching change. Hire a solid coach (in decent time frame) and those quotes and comments will not look the same.

There is an unfollow button on twitter if you don't like anything he tweets...

Not suprised the haters are out in force to downplay the repercussions of this scenario.
We may have a hard time putting five bodies on the court next year without walkons.

Rucker........ looking like a pathetic hack who rides Pearl and the staff's jocks. He and Griff are embarrassing.

Should have known you would chime in again.

Per Rucker, for a little perspective.

"For those wondering why I'm only covering the #TeamPearl part of this story: Well ... the #FirePearl crowd won't come out publicly and play."

I like Rucker, but I had to chuckle a little when he tweeted he's "never printed rumors, never have never will."
