Ruby Whitehorn

While watching the schedule reveal last night, I saw a crawler saying that UT had lifted Ruby Whitehorn’s suspension and that she is back with the team. I’ve seen no other confirmation of this. Anyone see this?
She is back had to do some stuff to get back not explained what that was, but it seemed to be a really tough decision for Coach Caldwell and one she only made when Ruby came through with whatever she was needing to do to return. Glad Ruby made her way back hope she learned from it I expect she did.

Quote from CKC interview (linked provided in Rickster's thread):

Decision to reinstate Ruby Whitehorn and expectations on and off the court
"It was a difficult process. I think as a coach, it's really hard and I'm going to be really transparent here of you have to look at the scope of the team, and that's my job as a head coach is to protect the Lady Vol brand, and you have to look at that.
"But it's also my job to coach my players. My players are young people, and they make mistakes. And she made mistakes that did not reflect well on this program. We talked about it at length. We, I don't want to say punished, but we gave her a penalty that was pretty severe, and if she batted an eye to that or didn't want to do that or wasn't going to bend over backwards to make up for what she did to the brand of this program by failing to meet the standard, then we were going to move on.
"And she really wanted to be a part of this program, and she understands the severity of what she did. Those conversations led to where we are now."

Listening to CKC, I was impressed with her ability to weigh many factors at once, both about the program and a young woman who handled a situation very badly. She refused to let a single bad decision define Ruby Whirehorn’s life. At the same time, Ruby will not soon forget that there are consequences for her actions. I’m glad she is back with the team, as I believe she will be a better person as well as a better player.

Nobody condoned her reactions to the situation at hand, but the initial charges appear to be overboard and reduced by the processes. Hate we never got to hear the additional accounts referenced by her lawyer, but probably factored into the final charges WITH record purge after a year.

Reading of the event of now several weeks ago brought being cautioned about counting unhatched chickens to mind. It's perfectly understandable that you wouldn't recall that lighthearted exchange from June of '24, but it concerned my perhaps over-excitement at the possibility of signing Ruby Whitehorn.

Yesterday, many of us had our first sighting in a while of our athletic wing/forward. From my admittedly emotional point of view, she looked a bit haggard; or to quote The Story Teller, "....If you didn't know me better, Dad, you'd think that I'd just gotten outta jail." How much more hurtful then, must this be for Ruby. And, I'll speculate (hopefully not a first for this board) that that - heartbreak - is what led to this.
Whatever approach Coach Caldwell has chosen, we can hope it's best for all concerned. And, while some dismissed Coach Jumper's suggestion that she might go full hammer down, her comments strongly imply that she almost did. And for good reason:

Ruby went to a place where she made a poor decision. Actually, she made a poor decision to go to where she made more poor decisions. Regardless of the proceedings since or hence, the lesson must surely have been learned. Doors (plural) were knocked in; glass was broken.

Of course, in such matters, you cannot just pick up right where you left off. There must have been a meeting to reintroduce Ruby to her old and new Teammates; a somber occasion of accounting. And the apology - a palpable moment for the player, the team, and for the new mother, her Coach. I would not want to have watched that.

Now comes the healing. On many fronts this will take a while.

Cheers.
