What I'm surprised no one has noticed or mentioned (I haven't read every single post in this thread)...is the quote from KC that "I feel bad for this current team that we have. Time will tell if it's the right choice for this team, but I have no doubt that it's the right choice for the team 4-5 years from now."
That is very telling. How could "having standards" be the wrong choice for this current team? Seems like there are quite a few "Rubys" on this team that condone, defend, and have no problem with Ruby's actions. She is basically saying there is a presiding culture problem and this type of action (that she took / these standards) will absolutely be the right choice for this program when all of these players are gone and she has a team filled with her own recruits (in 4-5 years).
