Ruby Arrested……

Well I sure as hell wouldn’t have run to the nearest payphone and called the police and trusted that everything was going to work out OK like it’s 1965 in Mayberry.
Well go to jail then. This isn't 1989 when beating someone's @$$ was nothing..

Deal. I’ll take my chances ahead of calling the police to a volitale situation and just hoping it all works out for the best. Spent enough time working in the legal clinic at UT in law school to know that isn’t the best course of action in Knoxville, especially not for a black female.

This guy DJ Pauldo he is a straight shooter. He definitely has a voice among the parents of highly recruited male and female athletes. I respect his approach to being a father to his kids as well as an advocate for so many other student athletes.
Let this situation get handled in the appropriate manner.

I'm thinking it's unhinged and violent -- also super trashy -- to be breaking down multiple doors and breaking a glass mirror just to get a phone and an ID. Find someone with a phone, call the police, and let them go with you to retrieve your belongings.

Unless the other woman is a totaly lying psycho who kicked down the doors and broke the mirror herself in order to make Ruby look bad, then Whitehorn has some serious anger/judgement issues to deal with.

I'm glad no-one was physically injured, but even so, if the original report holds true, the pursuit had to go on for quite a while and was not just some split-second decision that went horribly, stupidly bad. Instead of ever thinking, "Whoa! What am I doing!? I need to leave!"... things escalated. Ugh.

I hope both women get counseling. 😢

Did you miss the part where both women agreed that the “Victim” came out of her apartment and confronted Ruby and took Ruby’s phone and passport and went back into Victim’s apartment and locked entry and bedroom door.

Victim don’t sound like a blameless victim but we probably have less than 25% of the truth at this point.

So a few fans believe kicking someone's @$$ to recover a phone and a ID (Passport) is worth possibly getting kicked off a National Championship contender for the upcoming season? 🫠 Priorities people priorities..
The fight started before the phone and passport was taken. The items being taken is what lead to the fighting continuing into the apartment.

I must say, I'm pretty impressed with the ability to kick in a door--especially a front door.

The force it takes to kick in a front door (even at a cheap apartment complex) would have to be pretty violent, which was my point. She's lucky no-one was injured, but the violent force she used to kick in doors is not so much (IMO) "impressive" as it is concerning.

Yes, 20-somethings often do dumb things. But dumb things that could be categorized as acts of VIOLENT RAGE are far more serious than getting caught with weed or drinking too much.

No, I didn't miss that part at all.

But confronting someone at their car and running off with their phone and ID do NOT give someone the right to go the route Ruby was charged with.

Sorry, but if she a tually did what she was accused of she went way too far.

The victim provoked a response, but the response was way too strong. And it could cost Ruby dearly. I love Ruby and I hope she won't have to do time in jail. But dang. 😪

Why was the Victim not charged for burglary? That was the original crime.

Too many holes in police report. Ruby should contact Alan Jackson(not the singer) from Karen Read trial to represent her in court.

Whatever each party did wrong, now is the time to learn once-and-for-always to never do those things again. A lesson fully learned would be worth whatever this costs.

You're faith in the efficiency of the police to retrieve your essential personal items from thieves is adorable.

They would file a report. Maybe get a search warrant in two weeks. Not find crap. Let you work it out in civil court. I've literally seen this happen.

So when does this switch to be about CKC's response?
Monday, or Tuesday?

I wonder if Kim has ever had to deal with this before. I'm sure never before in such a media spotlight. Sadly glad that the UTAD has plenty of experience to offer on how to handle these things.

🤔 Though on second thought... we haven't had many police arrest incidents on Danny's watch, have we? I might be guilty of selective memory.

I just checked. Last night was a full moon. 🫤

edit: It's a real thing. I once knew a lady whose husband was so effected by every full moon that she kept a loaded pistol on her nightstand on those nights.

The report states neither person had visible injuries. This escalated too far. Not sure to be honest what happened nor what could be done without a clear non bias explanation of the incident. That might not ever come without eyewitness testimony.

She appears in court on Tuesday and I presume will enter a plea of guilty or not guilty. At that point, people will be expecting some kind of statement from the University.
