And there it is ... homegirl stole Rubys cell phone and passport, Ruby kicked in her door to get it back. There was a tussle with no injuries. Nothing burger.

Where are you getting those specifics? The report only mentions an “altercation”.

[Oops, tapped the wrong link (to the WATE story not the WBIR one)]

It's literally right there in the article: Whitehorn told deputies the victim attacked her while she was trying to leave the parking lot and she was "only trying to defend herself," the warrant says. She said the victim took her cellphone and passport, according to court records.

With what phone? Lol

I guarantee you this. You take my phone and ID. I'm going to kick down a few doors to get it back.

Call the cops, and you're lucky to get it back in 3 months, if at all.
Ruby doesn't have friends that carry phones? What a turn of events, I figured she would be liked by her teammates or others.

According to the report, Ruby was leaving and the girl came outside and started a fight with her, stole her phone and ID and ran back into the house and locked the doors. Why isn’t Ruby the victim? Is it because she broke the door to get her property back that was stolen from her?

Sorry about that. You posted two links and I clinked on the one from WATE (which only has a sketchy report) and not the one from WBIR that had more details.

There is so much going in these reports that I will withhold judgement until full story comes out.

Victim took Ruby’s phone by mistake thinking it was hers…did victim also have her passport with her and mistaken Ruby’s for the victims.

A lot more to this story…
Neither account, at face value, really holds up to logic. Why would Ruby be outside the "victims" apartment breaking glass. Conversely, why would the "victim" randomly decide to attack Ruby in the parking lot. Some connecting facts seem to be missing in both versions.

This story has a lover's quarrel gone too far vibe...

My first guess to #2 is that the "victim" was planning to skip the country under a stolen identity.

Like others, I'm not saying Ruby's hands were completely clean either.

The other person had video of Ruby trying to fight her and kicking in the door.

I figure it is not the end of her playing career if she can stay out of jail. I don't think the assault is going to put her there since it seemed to be more of a screaming match other than actual violence. Kicking in a door is the worst offense. Most coaches would handle this as a first offense and not dismiss from team guess we'll find out more in a week or so. I hope it is not the end for her a lot of players make a mistake like this and are allowed to move on from it. Even Dawn let a player move on from an incident where there was actually physical violence.
