RPI Discussion.

Lunardi has Tenn. at 38 today. However Ark, LSU and Georgia have all crept up to the bubble edge. They may not be on the bubble, but they are really close. Tenn. is still being considered as one of the last 4 in which speaks somewhat to the weakness of the SEC. A loss would likely still hurt us tremendously. Especially if to Missouri who would likely leap frog us and make our game with them a play-in game. Arkansas plays Kentucky tonight and a win over Kentucky gives them 2 wins over Kentucky. That also could be hard for the tourney committee to ignore. Lunardi has stood firm that whatever happens only 3 SEC teams will get in. Unless he changes that to 4 there is work to do and fingers to cross. If a team surprises that is on the bubble and gets to the SEC finals look for that team to have a shot as well of being the 3rd team in.

The good news is....Bud Walton isn't in Lexington so it's a safe bet Kentucky beats them by 12.

Where did he say this?

This as well?

It is all on ESPN and under the bracketology. You can clearly see what the new RPI rankings are and how they have changed for the teams mentioned. Look at the bracket page and it is very clear he lists Tennessee as last 4 in still. He also has on that page how many teams he thinks will get in from each conference. It has said 3 all along. Until he changes that I see no reason to think the SEC will get 4 in. It is obvious that 4 is unlikely at this time in his opinion since he had Missouri in before, and they beat Tennessee. Now they are not in despite their RPI still being under 50. The idea of Mizzou and Tenn. possibly playing the last game as a playoff game also is inferred to be rather obvious. But that is just an observation of mine that was also confirmed by the announcers last night on the game and is of course contingent on both teams winning out until then.

I was wondering what the 38 was you spoke of, you said Lunardi has us at 38.

Lunardi has Tenn. at 38 today.

Also, he has had 4 and even 5 SEC teams projected in at the same time this year. As of now only 3 are projected in, but Missouri could get in without bumping out Tennessee.

for what it's worth, palm has arkansas and missouri in and tennessee out.

that came out today

Ark. 71 Ky. 67 That is a final in OT. I think that hurts Tennessee and Missouri's chances.
