I would guess (and this is in line with what CLK has said in the past about redshirts) that he will dress for every game...only go in if both before him get hurt, and use the redshirt after the season or before the deadline.

I can't imagine this will have any effect at all on Ambles commitment...why would it?

he can still redshirt and is likely to redshirt. don't need to go three deep.. the points out the most critical reason to sign Lamaison, spring practice. WOuld have been impossible to have spring practice with only ONE quarterback on roster.. been very sloppy

LWS - this is exactly what you said the staff was wary of and why they wanted to get Lamaison in here - so that we can actually HAVE a spring practice....I would say your perspective/info was spot on....:hi:

I hope this doesn't affect Ambles decision. I don't think it will, but who knows with 17 and 18 year old kids.

Puts us with 3 QBs and 2 next year. He was good insurance for us.

LWS question: I don't understand the NL redshirt thing. If he looks capable of running the show, why not plan on having him as part of the mix this year. If he looks like something less than being capable of starting over our two limp QB's, why would you want him clogging up a scholly 3 years down the road? Why would you want a guy "just for spring practice" burning a future scholly when you have extras to give right now?

He was piss poor insurance...

As a matter of fact I truly believe if every QB in front of him got injured we would have put Jones or Richardson at QB before we'd waste our time with him...

And don't worry about next year...we'll have at least 3 QB's on the roster if not 4

How can you have a spring practice with one quarterback who has played at any college level?

You answer me that and I'll try and explain Lamaison. Trust me, if Coleman was here, Lamaison would not be.

BTW, the word is, he is miles behind our two limp quarterbacks and won't catch them this year..

I still don't fully understand why he was brought on. From what I understand he was dropped from his baseball team because of poor attitude, poor work ethic and his arm was shot. I would say we gave G Jones a shot at QB if push came to shove over Rozier.

He was brought on because there was a point when we had literally two scholarship quarterbacks and that was before Lamison had emerged and we needed someone with some QB experience to be our 3rd stringer

it wasn't to play QB in a game. we haven't signed a QB in 2 years. We needed depth at position to allow them to be able to practice. His leaving hurts on the practice field now and certainly in spring if no one can come in at mid-term
