I'm driving down Saturday morning for the game and want to know if anyone has any advice regarding the best way to get there with the least traffic, cops, etc. and where to park without having the care vandalized or paying too terribly much. Any advice would be appreciated.

Once you get there, you can park at the Taco Mac near campus for free if you eat/drink there before the game.

Ga 316 is probably the most direct route to Athens. Leave early. If you are early enough you can park at the parking decks downtown. If not, you can park at the College Station intramural lots and catch a free shuttle. Here's a link to campus football parking. Don't expect it to be easy if you arrive an hour or two before game time.

i recommend the parking garage on S. Thomas St.
Good place to park, but you better get there early.

I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do. Parking in Athens is a nightmare.

Don't park too far away from campus. Downtown is good. Be careful--there are bunch of housing projects near the campus---a friend of mine had his car stolen two years ago when parking near there. They never found it.

This sounded good- but I just googled them and called the number it pulled up but the lady who answered said they had been out of business for two years.

Don't take Hwy 316 unless you are going to be VERY early. Stay on I-85 to Exit 137. Take Hwy 129 to Athens. It's longer on the map but traffic on 316 is terrible. Hwy 129 becomes Prince Avenue when you get into Athens and it takes right down to campus. Google Map Athens and figure out where you want to go from there.
