Well I'm bored so let's talk some B-Ball.

It appeared UT was looking to add another player, but those talks appear to have died. So it would seem that next years roster is set, curious as to how everyone sees the rotation shaking out next year.

We know that early on well probably see 10 or 11, but for the sake of argument let's make the predictions based on start of conference slate. We know CCM likes to play a 9 man rotation, although that 9th man can change game to game, with that said here's my thought...

PG: Trae Golden 30/ Richardson 10
SG: Jordan McRae 20/ mcbee 15/ josh 5
SF: D'montre Edwards 30/ Mcrae 10
F: Jarnell Stokes 30/ maymon 10
F: Jeronne Maymom 20/ Kenny 15/ yemi 5

Seriously, can you please quit listing Maymon at center. The only time it could be argued that he played the center was when he was on the floor with Woolridge as the only other big man and when they were forced to play a 4 guard/wing set when they had injuries down the stretch. Stokes is the starting center, Maymon the starting PF.

I think McBee starts and plays way more than 15 minutes. I would say Hall gets all the backup minutes unless there is foul trouble. Yemi was forced into action last year. 3 big guys in a normal rotation should be enough, especially when 2 of those guys are going to get 30+minutes at game. I just don't see Richardson getting all the backup PG minutes. I bet they do it by committee again this year, with maybe McBee running the offense but McRae guarding the others teams PG.

My hope is back up and 15 minutes for mcbee. This isn't because I dislike him, it's because I feel if McRae has beaten him out and is gettin 30 minutes that the light has come on for McRae. If mcbee is starting and playing 30 minutes I have my doubts as far as the limitations of this team are concerned.

Wow, a bit sensitive eh? I'll make them both forwards would that help you sleep tonight?

What you say or do has little to no bearing on how I will or won't sleep. However, if you want to continue to be wrong about stuff, then by all means leave it the way you first posted it. I am about through trying to have civil conversations with you anyway.

So taking away yemi, are you adding a 9th?

Wow I didn't realize our conversations weren't civil?

You and BPC have provided an unusually high amount of comedy tonight. Thank you!

Back on topic, maybe I'm expecting too much, but I'm looking for good things from Edwards day 1.

Hopefully I'm not setting myself up for disappointment.

That would be a nice asset, but I'm looking for McCrae to be a consistent offensive weopon this year

I just don't see 30 minutes from Edwards for a few reasons. 1) It always seems to take JUCOs a while to adjust. See Dwight Miller for example. There've been others over the years at UT. 2) He played a face up 4 in JUCO, so there'll be adjustment to playing on the wing. 3) I don't think Jordy's a 2 and will get most of the 3 minutes. McBee and Josh will get most of the 2 minutes. Those are just my opinions, though.

I suspect Edwards will be a 10-15 minute guy at the 3 this year, who'll give you 7-8 points and 2-3 rebounds/game.

And that would be fine, with what Tennessee has returning.

I know I have been really high on Josh for a while, but with his size, defensive ability and a motor that never runs cold he is so close to being a breakout player for us with a little polish offensively. Everyone keeps talking about Jordan being so close to developing into a great scorer, well I think Josh is just as close in terms of developing into a really good all around player.

This thread is just too offensive for some folk.

With that said, I think Sandy Vagina will make it into the rotation.

Unfortunately, McBee will still be your best option at the 3, so I would be shocked if he didn't start and get 25+ minutes. He's only a decent 3 pt shooter when he is set and ready to shoot. We will probably be seeing a lot of Passing it down low and kicking it out to a spotted up McBee.

I can agree with that. He was timid on offense throughout the year, but showed a lot of promise with his mid-range pull-up. Once he gets some polish on him, he may not be All-SEC caliber (or he may prove me wrong), but he will be a significant contributor for UT throughout his career.

I think you could eventually see Richardson being a taller version of Jajuan Smith. He would have to get a lot more confidence in his game. That's one thing for sure Jajuan didn't lack in was confidence.

I would think Edwards would get around fifteen minutes off the bench behind McBee at the 2 and McRae at the 3. Richardson could serve as a super-sub for any of the three back-court positions. Then Edwards gets the rest of those minutes as a defensive specialist. Edwards should play a much larger role in his senior year; though, as JUCO's usually do.

So it seems many are seeing Edwards not starting, and mcbee getting the start and major minutes.

Here's how it'd look I guess:

PG: Golden 30/ Moore 10
SG: Mcbee 20/ Richardson 20
SF: McRae 25/ Edwards 15
F: Stokes 30/ Maymon 10
F: Maymon 20/ Hall 20

Moore being the question mark, you may see chievous get those minutes.

I'm ok with this, but my hope is mcbee becomes a more consistent knock down shooter. The focus should be or post anyways, and the wings just need to be role guys and play good D. Pound the ball inside, and if they double kick out and drill the open 3's.

Obviously trolling.

Tough to say. I think you are underselling Armani Moore too. He will play

PG Trae Golden 30 minutes/Armani Moore 10 minutes
SG Jordan McRae 25 minutes/Skylar McBee 15 minutes
SF Josh Richardson 25 minutes/D'Montre Edwards 10 minutes/Jordan McRae 5 minutes
PF Jeronne Maymon 30 minutes/Kenny Hall 10 minutes
C Jarnell Stokes 30 minutes/Kenny Hall 10 minutes

The only reason Yemi should play will be for foul trouble. Knowing our bigs, that will be a good amount however.

I think Moore becomes the backup PG.

Edwards and McBee will be fighting for minutes. Whichever is the best player will play the 15-20 minutes a night.
