Who gives a crap about stars...I believe many people on here like me believe a 2 star player can be a 5 star with the right coaching and worth ethic. I have seen 5 star players fail, so it is nice to get them but even nicer when they perform on the field like a 5 star.

yeah the teams that win the NC everyyear dont have a lot of highly ranked guys

yeah and they also usually have highly paid coaches who have been doing the job for years and are worth the money...

it's not just the players. you got to have the whole package.

I have seen players get recruited who didnt have a lot of stars and turned out great and I have seen the opposite. but you cant blame our recent decline on one thing.... it's a multitude of things.

Crappy coaching, average players= below or at average season with a little luck mixed in.

Lol nice sarcasm......very solid point. Most teams that are winning NCs are in the top 5 in recruiting yearly.

That is true but look at Boise state, TCU, Cincinnati, they have done pretty good the pass few years with 2,3,4 star players or less

So by looking at this, if we have no underclassmen leave early or transfer, we only have 19 scholarships to offer next year? Need some help.

You should go out and checkout Va. Techs signing classes over the past few years. They get a few 4* recruits but their classes mostly consist of 3* players and they signed several 2*. In 2007 they actually signed 1 - 5* 2 - 4*, 14 - 3* and 8 - 2* players. They seem to do pretty well. It's called player development. They handed it to us this year, that's for sure.

Interesting point.

Not counting John Brown (because he is part of this class). We only have 4 players that are juniors or seniors on our roster that were ranked higher than a 3 star out of high school. Our talent is very young, we will struggle next year. People need to get ready for that.

Stars are not overall talent. Geez I'm sick of explaining this. Stars are a reflection of how READY TO PLAY a prospect is. 5's are the closest to being ready to contribute as a Frosh. Whereas 2's and 3's need some developmnt. Does not mean that a 3 isn't as good or won't be. comprende?

Hens did you make this yourself...I would love to compare our roster with our competiton for next year. FL, Bama, LSU, Georgia imparticular. I would assume they have much more talent...where could we get that info.
