Jordan played on some very average Bulls teams prior to Pippen's arrival and it still took a couple years for them to get to the Finals after that. Shaq and Kobe didn't seek one another out. At the tie Shaq went to LA, Kobe had just been drafted and no could have known for certain that he was going to turn out to be the star he became.
Like it or not, LeBron is the first superstar who, in his prime, has had to actively seek out the assistance of not just one, but two other superstars in an effort to win a title because he either couldn't do it himself. It's not like the Cavs had to get another elite player to win a title either. LeBron actually got them to the Finals even with that lousy supporting cast. They could have easily gotten enough good pieces around him actually win a title IMO. Instead, LeBron took the easy way out, which is why I'd rather not see him win a championship.
And Jordan didn't win a title with those very average teams. And that's my point they didn't have to seek anyone out because they had management that would get players around them and were in a city that players wanted to go to. Vareajo and Mo Willians as your best players outside of Lebron? Come on.
