The 2023 season is quickly approaching and you people need to be educated on the intricacies of the Gentlemen’s Game.

Tennessee is opening up on the road Friday against Arizona followed by games on Saturday and Sunday versus Grand Canyon an UC San Diego.

Arizona and Grand Canyon are good ball teams that could give the Vols fits.

Tennessee is returning the best starting pitching staff in the nation and a few very exciting position players.

I believe these games will be featured on the MLB Network.

More to follow.

2022 Numbers that matter:

Arizona: 39-25 (16-14; 5th in the PAC-12), finished season with a loss to Ole Miss in the Coral Gables Regional

Grand Canyon: 41-21 (25-5; 1st in the WAC), finished the season with a losses to Arkansas and Missouri St. in the Stillwater Regional

UC San Diego: 24-34 (13-17; 8th in the Big West), no post season play for these folks and may G-d have mercy on their soul this weekend.

If you like nationwide coverage of college baseball, I'll make a pitch for the 11point7 podcast. Ben Upton and Dmitri Kourtis do a great job of tracking every conference in America.

My prediction for the staring defensive lineup this Friday:

C - Stark/Taylor (pulling for Taylor here)
1b - Burke (beast)
2b - Moore
SS - Ahuna (stud transfer)
3b - Denton (probably?)
LF - Merritt (probably)
CF - Booker
RF - Dreiling (freshman, maybe starts)

DH - Dickey (great contact hitter with a bum wheel last year)

Pitchers:
Dollander, Beam, Burns - All freaking studs. Any of these guys could win the Golden Spikes Award this year. This is like having a Heisman finalist at QB and two at RB. It's unfair to Tennessee's opponents.

For the record, I appreciate TRM’s knowledge, research, effort, verve, and decidedly left field perspective. Thank you for being you, TRM. 🖖🏽
