Ron McKeefery hired as S&C coach

Long- not retained by new staff
Smith- didn't work well with others
Ausmus- not retained by new staff
Wylie- only one who had a choice

am I missing someone?

I think that covers it.

Long wasn't retained for obvious reasons

Hope he is the man. I have to admit Wylie looked the part a little more.

Moffitt doesn't look the part yet everyone considers him to be a guru

Well One thing Lane Kiffin taught us is pay whatever it takes to get the best coaches to fill your needs. Open up the checkbook. that philosophy proved true last year with us and Auburn as well.

All that got us was a 7-6 record, coaches fleeing in the dark of night, and a quarter of his vaunted recruiting class already gone.

He sure showed us

I am not going anywhere. i love this program more than you ever will. I welcome you to join me at the Georgia basketball game and we can see if you can make me quit being Passionate about this university.

I have a feeling that I'd prefer to be on the oposite side of the arena from you.

most people when asked why they loved wylie will say they liked the way he looked. thats it. i am actually more excited about this hire. the guy seems legit and has a long and impressive resume. Dooley has a level head and would certainly not hire the first guy to say yes.

Talked to my contact in the S&C business who is very familiar with UT's situation and has known each of the former S&C coaches personally as well as Moffitt and McKeefery.

He said this is a good hire and one that should provide stability in the position. Moffitt more than likely referred this guy as the two are friends, and he is well respected amongst his peers.

name one player who got faster under Wylie? Oku got slower. He put on too much red muscle and need to put on white muscle.

Anybody can go into a gym, slam a protein shake down, and get bigger and bulkier. Anybody.

I saw nothing that proved to me Wylie was anything other than a roidhead who liked to work out and got paid for it.

I saw numerous injuries and more than one person said he didn't know how to develope Palardy.

The people on here that are judging a S&C coach on how much of a roidhead he looks like aren't quite getting the big picture.

This guys resume is legit. It is actually as much or more legit than Wylie's is.

Before we even lost our strength coach I saw videos of the workouts when he was at USF and they were legit really liked them. Plus I like the fact that he came from training Army special forces you know he can get the respect and discipline down. I like the hire.

thats what im saying the only thing people liked about wylie was the way he looked. i love the resume this guy has and the team workouts and competitions will help alot imo. but he doesnt have a six pack so he must suck i guess.

Working with SF (Special Forces) speaks well. They just dont bring in someone to fill a position. Pretty BA actually.

When this guys says he prepares the best and brightest of young men for war he can actually say it and it's not a cliche.

I'll miss him when you leaves for some other school next year ... jk.

From the USF board:"bummer. Well, at least he didn't land somewhere in the Big East. I've always been impressed with the strength and speed coming from our guys who weren't heavily recruited. That had to do a lot with McKeefery. If all of a sudden it drops off the map, we know where it is now: UT."

Hope he works out at UT. Another hire where it seems Coach Dooley is thinking outside the box and our strength program will probably be in good hands for years to come.
