Rome to talk Kiffin next

Have you been listening to the national media? Most are liking what Kiffin is doing at UT (including yesterday). Rome is the exception.

Kiffin is currently a media favorite for his brashness. Let him be successful and he could very well be the second coming of Spurrier x2.
that's exactly right.

the media loves anyone/thing that stirs the coffee.

and Kiff has done that for them today. they all loved Spurrier.

I think what's getting lost in all this talk about brashness is that none of us that have been pro Kiff thur this whole thing are naive enough to think that this is all it takes.

eventually it has to translate in to beating Meyer, Sabane et al.

if we go out for the next few years and get trounced at every turn, then obviously, this is all going to go up in flames.

we just don't see any evidence of that being the destiny of how this ends up.

the guy has put together a great staff. they will get plenty of players. they will win eventually.

but for now, i'll take the entertainment portion of the show, sure.

Well said, Jake. It's nice to have something to be excited about. We all want more.

Yesterday evening John Kincaid was just going to town about this, and he was way across the line of good taste IMO. Buck Belue had Kiffin's back though. It was actually pretty hilarious. The gist of Belue's point was: in the old days, every one of those boosters would have laughed about the joke and then never said a word; it's a shame that you can't even make a mistake in front of your own boosters anymore. Buck Belue was so uninterested in the whole thing and it was grinding Kincaid's gears hard. It was pretty hilarious. :)

Kincaid is an insufferable, self righteous, uninteresting D-bag. I wonder how much longer Buck is going to carry his water.

I've always enjoyed the Jim Rome show. I admit that he can ramble at times about stupid stuff but his interviews are insightful and he gets the big names on his show. Its entertainment. Nothing more.

This is so much more about the media than anything else. In the good old days you had a few weekly publications, daily newspapers that were mostly cut and paste news and a few sports shows. Now you have ESPN 24x7, various web sites that have to be refreshed with new content constantly and bazillions of hours of local sports talk radio hacks who all have to come up with some content to talk and write about.

Kiffin just gave them content to suck on...it's actually kind of pathetic when you think about it.

I can't stand Rome and could care less what he has to say. BUT!!! Any pub is better than no pub. Whenwas the last time a national radio show based in CA talked about UT football except when CPF got fired? UT football is all over the country, the gator haters (alot of them out there UT fans or not) love it. The whole southeast is talking about UT and our coach and he hasn't even had the first day of spring practice.

Just wait, if he can step up and beat Bamma or UF this year we will be all over the airwaves. Great to be excited again!!

Marriotti is delusional if he thinks CLK didn't know the rule. Guess that's why he lost.

A sportwriter said something along those lines earlier on ESPN. He said kifffin is "Spurrier on training wheels"!!

The intriguing thing about Kiffin is the fact that he is more cocky than most of the 5* superstar athletes that he is recruiting. You know what.... that is why they want to play for him. I love it! It is great to be hated again! I say we enjoy it!!!

If he had just said Meyer is an @$$ for trying to sabotage Richardson's visit...how many people would have heard it?

Kiffin knew exactly what he was doing. He's brilliant. And he's OURS!!!!

He was also wrong, he acted like a genius when he announced that UF was violating recruiting rules when they really weren't, that is just brilliant let me tell you.

Kiffin has just nailed a giant target on his a#$ for the rest of the SEC coaches to throw darts at.

Better to be a target, than irrelevant.

.

1) Did you watch it?

2) Your comments are comical considering who your coach is.
