Yeah I've heard this argument before, i.e., if Kentucky beat them then they must have been overrated. You see the conundrum that kind puts me in? And not to be nasty, but all 4 were better than 09 UCLA.

The only thing I want to point out is that for a topic that began about Jim Rome, its pretty hilarious that he and his comment has been mentioned all of about 5-10 times in the 250+ posts.

Resume banter please.

I never said that because the mighty Wildcats beat them they were overrated all I said were each one of those teams were disappointing. The fact of the matter is that neither one of those teams would beat UCLA this year. None of them. Keep trying, I'm sure it gets harder after losing to us every year. You shouldn't even be on the football board talking trash. The only thing you can beat us in is basketball.

I posted Rome's statement then people took it as me bashing UT. It kind of went off track from there. That's not unusual for message boards though.

Well, 3 of the 4 mentioned were in bowl games so they were what they were, it was the end of the season. There is no way to say they were overrated BUT FOR their game against Kentucky because it was their last game. UL game? Yes, turns out they sucked and that was an early-season game. And no, UCLA was not better than that Clemson team nor the E. Carolina team. The FSU team with the guys suspended and the UL team when all was said and done? Yes, UCLA is probably better or near equal. Quit being a giant homer.

I'm very much aware of the chaos message boards sometimes fall into.

To actually comment though, Rome may piss me off a lot of times but I do happen to agree with him on some things as well. On this however...just because Florida's the bigger badder "dude" won't mean jack until the game gets played. That 1/2 foot or 50 lbs advantage won't mean anything if even the smallest of things goes wrong, an injury for example.

As far as I'm concerned the Vols should go into this weekend thinking that they can win, and that even if we lose we should knock them in their teeth.

Rome is a blowhard. I think his point was you can't say it and then try to take it back a few days before the game.

Oh please. I'm not being a giant homer I'm stating facts. Its not my fault you can't handle facts about your own football team. Face it...You beat a depleted FSU team..An overrated Clemson team who disappointed from the get go and ECU team that come out of the gate strong but got in that rigorous conference schedule that is CUSA and folded. You have no argument you and you know it. Hence calling me a giant homer. Being right doesn't make me a homer. Being wrong and trying to convince me and the rest of VN that those are 4 convincing/good wins because they aren't

And again, the "well, UK beat them so they are overrated" argument. Well, you win, if in fact if UK beats a team that team is bad then, by definition, UK has never beaten a team that isn't bad. We also happened to beat LSU in 2007, they were obviously overrated as well.

Wow, one team in the last 30 years that was worth a crap and you think UK is God's gift to College football....Those 4 teams were VERY overrated

Louisville was horrible in 2007 when you beat them...You have no arguement there

ECU started out solid and then once they hit they rigorous Conference USA schedule they fell like a rock...OVER RATED yet again, I use that statement because after they beat an absolutely horrid Va. Tech team last year and a mediocre W. Virginia team they follow that up just 2 weeks later and get beat by a WEAK NC State team

FSU had 90% of their team suspended for that game, real solid win there, that one isn't tainted at all

Clemson disappointed in 2006, they were expected to play in the NC game and contend for the ACC title by a lot of people/experts and they wind up playing in the lowly Music City Bowl

2 Music City Bowls and a Liberty Bowl appearance in the last 3 years, that makes UK football a powerhouse...Give me a break

Your "facts" were idiotic. Maybe Clemson was overrated, that doesn't mean they weren't good lol. I guess if someone is preason #1 but finishes #2, then a victory over them is meaningless. That's what your logic would dicatate. Please don't respond, you're analytically challenged and it's a waste of time.

You're the one that's on a UT board talking smack about how UK is better than UT this year in football and this and that....All you can do is stoop to calling names because you were WRONG....FSU and ECU were both overrated and UK Football SUCKS at best....Enjoy your time in the Liberty Bowl and Music City Bowl the next couple of years, if you even make it that far and we will enjoy our success and dominating the Wildcats for another 24 years

Who are you to say they are overrated going into a bowl game? How can you possibly know this other than basing it on the bowl game, i.e., the UK game. Also, when did I say UK was better than UT this year?

All Rome does is jump on over-covered topics and gets all "mad" about them. I've never heard him say anything that hasn't already been said 100 times. Up next on Rome...steroids in baseball.
