Roll the dice with staff changes?

The OP doesnt know what he is talking about. Chaneys offenses were at the top of the SEC in every major category.

Actually, Chaney makes my point. He and Pittman are running a totally different offense at Arkansas, and it's working. A good coach is a good coach. Our OC before and after Chaney are the ones that didn't work w the personnel in place.

UT has changed its coordinators and position coaches repeatedly over the past 6-7 years...and here we are.

The question is whether we can surgically remove the bad parts of our offense with a coaching UPGRADE. Oline? coordinator? Both?

2 of our last 3 offensive coordinators hired haven't worked out. And florida has apparently hired 4 bad ones in a row. They are suffering as a result.

I don't want to change just to feed raw meat to the Vol Nation. But isnt the purpose of coaching to figure out what the team can execute. The whole "this is our offense" mentality isn't what Alabama, Texas, or Oklahoma believed before they switched to the wishbone. You shouldn't be married to any system when the SEC has defensive talent seen nowhere else in America.

You seriously can't be this f'n stupid

My point is that changing coaches Every 1-2 years has solved nothing. Some hires - like a Gus Malzahn - immediately work, but many do not. That's called gambling (rolling the dice). Notice the ? At the end of the sentence. I asked a question to the forum.

Do you suggest zero changes to coaching staff OR system? If our system does not work w current line and QB, adjustments may be in order. Have we seen any of those?

Jones served under Rodriguez at WVU. He made no attempt to modify his system at Michigan and it cost him his job. Urban Meyer could have come to Florida and put Chris Leak in his system. Instead he compromises and wins a National title in 2006.

One of the reasons we are where we are is because of the rapid turn over of coaches. Let stay the course and let the rebuilding process continue and if things are still as bad, get ride of the coaches who are responsible for the positions which continue to fail. It appears that we will recruit some quality OL players who will have to mature physically and mentally Very few freshmen are physically prepared to compete with the senior talent on most current SEC teams,
