Roll the dice with staff changes?

i say we have to make some staff changes, continuity be darned.

Incredible. We lose to the #3 team in the country that has arguably the best defense in the country and people are acting like the season is over with 5 games left. I'm so glad that this website only represents a very small percentage of the fan base.

Something has gotta change offensively. The "process", "young" and "recruiting" arguments hold up against great teams like Ole Miss. But they don't hold up after losses to teams that get shalacked by Missouri (aka Florida). That's a game that you have to win with good coaching based even on our current youthfulness. It will likely cost us a bowl game. We will likely beat kentucky and vandy but I don't see us beating mizzou or usc. I will still be rooting just as hard as all the "Sunshine pumpers". Seeing mistakes and shortcomings shouldn't call into questions someone's fandom.

How many games do you see UT winning this year?

How many times does this need to be said, we had 3 NFL OL last year and the offense sucked this bad.

It was actually 4. Everybody except Bullard made a roster. Fulton and James are starters as rookies.

I still think UK is a toss-up even after their debacle in Baton Rouge.

I'm not sure I want to meet the percentage of the fan base that isn't scratching their head at this offense. That side of the ball gave our D and us fans nothing positive to work with. Nothing.

It is. If it's in Lexington I don't like our chances. Thankfully it's in Knoxville. I think we win...but it is up in the air. I think they are over rated. USC might be over rated as well (not that either are rated very highly) but the USC game is at their place. Don't think we can get out of there with a W.

Yes, because that has helped us for the last 4 years

Yep. Should have kept Dooley and Sunseri. That would have made things all better, right?

MOST teams that rise from losing to success will go through a series of 2-4 year coaches until they find the right one.

I'm not so sure the VolNation "only represents a very small percentage of the fan base". In fact, I would say this board (and a great board it is) is very representational of Vol fans.
The problem is, we had far toooo many Vol fans predicting a Win over Ole Miss! We had just as many predicting a loss, but, they predicted the final score would be very close and that UT would cover the spread. It is obvious these fans don't put their money up, to kinda back up these predictions.
As a Vol fan, I think fans should a. support their teams-win lose or draw. b. not be afraid to be critical, if criticism is warranted, after all your are a supporter. On this board, you generally find two different types of fans, the kind that drink tooo much and actually believe we will win a National Championship every year. And those that believe in the Vols, no matter what, and don't mind complaining regarding their short comings-especially those that may help them win a few more games. I think this is very, very representational of Vol Fans.:hi:

I'm all for continuity if the coaches we're continuing with have a proven track record. There is absolutely nothing on Bajakian's resume that screams SEC coordinator. I have seen nothing on the field that makes me think all he just needs more and better players.

I was talking about the people giving up on the team because they couldn't beat a championship quality team, not the people who makes fair criticisms about the team. I'm with you, this was a disappointing game offensively. However, I'm not stepping off the ledge. After Alabama, there won't be any other teams on our schedule with a defense comparable to Ole Miss (You could maybe make a slight argument with UK, but their rush defense is horrible). I'll be shocked if our offense is held to less than 17 points to anyone after Bama.

Forget 4-8, there is a chance for 3-8. The Vandy coach will be playing for his job and pulling out all of the stops. By the end of the season, I can easily see the players mentally tuning out B*tch Jones.

The line is horrible yes, but we can run something else. How about a toss every once in a while. what about split backs, quick routes, play action to keep them guessing, Stick routes, slants, te seam.... Something! It's almost like he don't try to be creative..we run straight up the middle behind a line that caves in. And either our wrs stay covered up, or our routes are too slow to develop. Whatever it is, it's not working. All I know is our game plan has to be more than a draw/delay, screen and a over, under thrown vertical

We had a first year starter at QB for half the season and a fourth string true freshman to close it out. We also had a young and inexperienced group of WRs that didn't help matters.

Your name fits you well. Are we only playing 11 games this season?

3-8? What game is being cancelled? Vandy isn't firing it's coach after one season. Loservol is perfect for you.
