If so, that's great. Just something we don't hear often on the telecasts.

I'd bet, in a contest judged by serious music composition-types, "Down the Field" would earn a top-10 spot. Still my favorite over "Rocky Top."

But I grew up with it, so in my memory, it still resonates like John Ward's voice. :salute:

They have played it after every score since it became the official UT "fight song". Originally it was (and is) the fight song of Yale University, but they aren't the ones who made it famous...Pride of the Southland Band!

Alabama's fight song made the list. I never knew the lyrics to the song they sing to their football team until now.

Yea, Alabama! Drown ’em Tide!
Every ‘Bama man’s behind you,
Hit your stride.

That's just plain creepy. :eek:

The song calls out Mississippi State/Georgia and Georgia Tech which kind of seems odd for Alabama. I'd have expected Auburn and us.
