He better start catching some balls!

i think last year it was hard for one receiver to steup with the offense as bad as it was and an offensive scheme that is predictable as ever.
a lot of eyes on the vols next year and a ton of pressure.

Since we have gotten rid of Colonel Sanders, which is headed off to Kentucky I think. Now with that being said, we will know each and every play that Kentucky is going to run, they will be very predictable.
I just don't understand it at all. I watched this kid in Oklahoma hs ball go up in crowds of DB's and come down with it, greedy for the ball. What hands he had....can you just lose ability?(milohimself @ Jun 3 said:Well, if he drops key passes then he isn't really that good, is he?

I would venture to say that SEC dbs pack a little more punch than OK hs dbs. Hopefully he and Ainge and the other WR's are getting together to work on timing this summer. It seemed to me that the offense was always a half step out of sync last yr.(dan4vols @ Jun 3 said:I just don't understand it at all. yeah I know when he got to college the DB's are better but so shouldnt he mature as well in his physical and athletic abilities? I think you have a great point about the timing.(volmanjr @ Jun 3 said:I would venture to say that SEC dbs pack a little more punch than OK hs dbs. I would hope so but maybe that extra punch has slowed his maturity a bit, hopefully he'll have a "growth spurt" in that area. We need a wr to step up and be the man this yr. Meach hasn't proven to be that ,yet :cross:(dan4vols @ Jun 3 said:yeah I know when he got to college the DB's are better but so shouldnt he mature as well in his physical and athletic abilities? (bigdaddy @ May 2 said:Great. That is all we need is more overhyped press for our WR crew. It did us a world of good last season. Let him prove his game on the field. He hasn't shown in a game the proof that he should start.
No. The ability should still be there. Catching the ball is all about the desire.(dan4vols @ Jun 3 said:I just don't understand it at all. I watched this kid in Oklahoma hs ball go up in crowds of DB's and come down with it, greedy for the ball. What hands he had....can you just lose ability?
We all know Meachem can play against SEC defensive backs. And the timing would help, but there were times last year when Ainge threw great passes and the receivers made little/no attempt to grab the ball, even if it hit them in the numbers.(volmanjr @ Jun 3 said:I would venture to say that SEC dbs pack a little more punch than OK hs dbs.
