Robert Meacham not a VFL?

On SNF when they do the intros he mentioned his high school instead of us. Guess we are that bad now that people are embarassed to have played for us. Foster doesn't represent UT anymore either.

That has nothing to do with it. I would be embarrassed to post such garbage if I were you!

If they don't graduate then they can't use the name of the university is my understanding.

your understanding from what? That's seems kinda ridiculous considering Jared Allen claims the Culinary Academy and home schooling. They can say whatever they want

When he introduced himself tonight he said his high school instead of Tennessee. What gives?

Not sure. There are often many players who do give their High School during introductions. What is worse is Jabari Greer called out his home town not mentioning high school or UT.

I would think some of you would have other maybe more important things to worry about than a shout out from a pro football player on Sunday night football. Must be nice.

I don't blame him. When he was here, half the fan base heckled him for fumbling all the time. It kinda pisses me off that he plays much better in the league than he did here

Just a "typical" (not everyone) Vol fan reaction. Its been this way as long as I can remember. Why do so many people around here have a boulder on their shoulder and get butt hurt so easy? Is it just Vols fans or part of the East Tennessee culture? Let it go people and your life will be much better.

Just for the record Aubrayo Franklin doesn't hate us

Are you from East Tennessee?

Want to know why Foster hates UT? Because he was treated like **** while he was here. Even when he became the first 1000 yard rusher in about 5 years he was still treated like crap. I wouldn't blame Crompton for not acknowledging UT if he ever gets the chance in the NFL.

In the case of Foster he got what he deserved. From his pterodactyl language to his deciding just before game time that he couldn't play against Wyoming even though everyone on the coaching staff expected him to play. Yes some fans did blast him for his inopportune fumbles but I don't recall it getting out of hand. The 2008 season with Clawson's offense was a disaster for Foster who came back to improve his draft stock but he didn't handle it well at all. His attitude was the reason he was an undrafted free agent not his ability. Luckily for him he was good enough to overcome being undrafted.

I know this thread is talking about petty stuff, but you can look at it as UT gave them the scholy and opportunity to play college FB to get to the pros, so you would at least think they could give them that respect. On a side note, did anyone notice after Meacham scored and there was a scuffle, Gaither came to his rescue?

OK so what? They are teammates right? Am I missing something here?

False

You're an alumnus whether you graduated or not

Someone, obviously trying to sound like they are informed, has told you a falsehood

Yeah, probably right. Seems like there was a thread on here about this before. I think that's where I heard it. I wasn't sure so I researched myself and couldn't find anything stating they couldn't use the name of their university for any reason. Some players even stated their preschoolsf. Just up to the player I guess...

The OP learned his lesson. Don't start a thread complaining unless you want to read replies complaining about your complaint. I didn't really take it as him complaining, just asking a question. That's not what message boards are for. They're for being mean to each other when you disagree with someone's stupid opinion. Now he knows.

It doesn't bug me one way or another, I just like when our players Rep us in the national spot light. And you are right I was not complaining he has a right to say what ever, like Terrel Suggs, Ball so Hard U, but that was humerous, not a straight lack of missing an opportunity to put your college in the spot light, even for a second.

Nobody but the fan base of which ever team is said cares. Nobody in North Dakota is gonna say, Robert Meacham played at Tennessee, that's awesome!
