Robert Marve

Could be true....but if the future elite QB is scared of competion for 2010 job....is that a loss?

There is a difference between being afraid of competition and not wanting to go to a school with 5 QB's on the depth chart to have to battle with. If you don't think that every single recruit examines the depth chart of the school they intend to commit to beforehand, then you are severely misinformed.

As it stands now, I expect to get one of Heaps or Scroggins, Hendrix, and JuCo Cameron Newton. Adding Marve to that mix would certainly force one or more guys to at least reevaluate the situation.

Not being argumentative about this potential, but TN has nothing to lose in this situation. He gets to practice with the team in 2009 (without a scholarship being lost)….the coaching staff can evaluate him & if he’s proven himself, we can offer a scholly for 2010. If the coaches don’t think he’s worth a crap, they don’t have to give him a scholarship.

If he comes to us this year, it can only be a plus. He would dfinitely be a blessing getting our Defense prepared every week working as the Scout Team QB, all the while learning our system and getting prepared for 2010. It's WIN WIN situation.

It's probably Newton or Marve plus Heaps, Scroggins or Hendrix. Two seems like the limit for 2010 with Stephens on the roster, but we could go 4 deep at QB.

Never claimed to be a recruiting genius, but I do follow recruiting a little bit….just because my opinion is different than yours….no need to tell me I’m severely misinformed.

You are mentioning 3 different QB’s that have not committed to TN…..so saying we are 5 deep in 2010 is a bit premature….IMO.

Agree 100%.....but SAB thinks we are "severely misinformed"

Only if you are saying that prospective recruits do not look at the depth chart at their position for the school of their choice. Is that what you're saying?

It's simple reading comprehension.

Cam Newton will be a Vol. If Marve comes, it's him + Newton. That will make it very difficult to commit for any prospective QB when Signing Day is so far away.

The point is you were against getting him now your all for him. I'm all for him as well, just saying...

I never said I was against getting him! Never. Show me one place where I said anything remotely like that. I was all for him from the beginning, I just didn't think we would pursue it when his name first popped up. About that I was wrong.

Why do all these words that I have never said keep getting thrown around with my name attached to them?

What? Please show me where I said you did. Geezus, dude. Again, your reading comprehension skills appear to be lacking.

OK.....re-read your post....."Only if you are saying that prospective recruits do not look at the depth chart at their position for the school of their choice. Is that what you're saying?"

I said "NO"....that is not what I said....show me where I said that. Can you comprehend?

It was a question, brainiac. I never said you said that, I simply stated that that if you did, you would be severely misinformed. IF. If you never said that nor had any intention of saying that, then that statement doesn't apply to you at all, now does it?

You guys are fussing over nothing. You both said basically the same thing: having that many QB's on the roster could be a problem when attracting recruits.

IP....you are right....I just over reacted by being told I was "severly misinformed" & I have no reading comprehension skills.
