Robert Hubbs

I saw when looking at an article about Hubbs being nominated for the Mcdonalds All American game that there was a kid nominated from Knoxville. His name is Burton Sampson, hes a Jr at Knoxville Webb High School. Just wondering if were recruiting him, i couldnt find much on the internet about the kid

You can't be a junior and be nominated for the McDonalds All American game.

Not being "that guy", legitimate question. I thought he was a good 3pt shooter, his % is pretty low.

No that's an honest question, first thing that jumped off the page at me honestly. He's a career HS 36% so....

Haven't seen him play this year, maybe some are ill advised? He's averaging about 4 three pointers a game so that's not a huge number...

Thank you, 36 career is better. Your explanation makes sense. Just remember hearing on here he was a good shooter, the 33% seemed off. I'm sure commanding a lot more attention from opponents doesn't help either.

That's what I was kinda wondering. I'm sure he goes into the game as the opponents number 1 target. Honestly he doesn't need to be a 40% perimeter shooter, about 35% just to keep them honest will work, driving is his strength.

I agree. I didn't think it would be 40%, just surprised at 33%. Either way glad that he's a Vol, can't wait to see him in orange and white.

You are in the wrong place for that.

True. Funny thing is I was alluding to people saying he was a good 3pt shooter. Was just wondering if I had heard wrong, based on his %. Of course I get a smartass ironic reply. I know, its VolNation. Lol

One thing that I'm thinking is that he gets to the basket any time that he wants. So if he's only shooting a couple threes a game and only hitting 1 or so then it's not going to look like he's very good from three. I'm sure he can shoot though. After watching videos of him he looks like a more polished McRae when it comes to getting to the rim.

What people don't see about this kid is that he really plays within the team concept. I saw him a couple of weeks ago only score 2 points in the 1st qtr... but he had 7 reb and 4 assist in that qtr and his team was up 10 points. Over the course of the next 2 qtrs he dropped 21 pts and continued to attack the boards. Despite the fact he is a dynamic score he makes everyone else better and is a leader and motivator.

VOL!
