underachieving idiot?

Hopson was a model student athlete during his time at UT. He was never in trouble, was a good student by all accounts and averaged 17 PPG his junior year.

Did he make a mistake by leaving early because of bad advice, yes. Was he frustrating at times because of the potential he flashed, yes. But he still did more than many other recruits have in the past 6-7 years.

He's an idiot? Model student who never got in trouble. How can he be an idiot for leaving early when he saw the coach coming in? Even though he wasn't good enough to be drafted, it was a better choice than to have his talent wasted by Martin

My main gripe with Stokes is his intensity. He's not always as intense as he should be. When he is intense he usually does well. That's a maturity thing IMO. He's a sophomore but realistically he's only a freshman age wise. He's still a young pup. With Maymon back next year, he should really elevate his game.

Was he soft? Sure. That was his personality. Was he overrated? Yeah, but of no fault of his own. The fault lies with fans like yourself who think the recruiting services opinions are the end-all, be-all when it comes to evaluating these kids. Hopson played small-town, low-level basketball in Hopkinsville, KY vs little competition. Fans that expected Hopson to be the savior of UT basketball are the same ones who will be disappointed when Hubbs doesn't realize their wildly unrealistic expectations.

Ya see what I mean? Some of you are already lowering their expectations of Hubbs for next year lol Why? This kid is a 5 star recruit. There will be NO excuse for this kid not averaging 10-12 ppg! Those are realistic expectations. Anything else is underachieving, Im sorry.

No, Im a diehard Vol alum that expects and demands better, thats all. Why would I be a troll by telling somebody that I think a 5 star recruit should avg 10 ppg their freshman year? Fans with lower expectations and that accept mediocrity are the real trolls.

Im not comparing Hubbs to anybody. Again, all I said was that a player of Hubbs' caliber SHOULD come in their Freshman year and avg 10 ppg. That is why you get the hype right?! A decent 3 star player, like Josh Richardson, I dont have those kind of expectations.
