Robert Griffin - Football Recruiting

A
n article says he has 10 offers for QB. He then said that the ones he's taking seriously are Houston, Washington State, Tulsa, TCU, and Illinois. - 7/3

He's in Knoxville visiting right now. Also, a poster on VolQuest said this about him: In a H.S track meet last May in Austin, TX, Griffin broke the 4-A State record in the 110 high hurdles, with a time of 13.55. Another thing, he ran the 300 hurdles, "just missing out on the national mark of 35.32 set in 1985." He says that Griffin is a strong armed QB with 4.6 GPA and will probably "break all the records[a 45.7 400]."

His top three are Washington State, Houston, & LSU.

The dude has blazing speed. Reel 'im in, UT!

James Banks played multiple positions. Jon Wade played multiple positions. Turk McBride played multiple positions. Jason Allen played multiple positions. These are recent examples, shall I go on?

^and there's more. Kelley Washington played pro-baseball before UT, so I wouldn't say he fit perfectly, Mark Jones played some both ways, Hardesty was recruited to play several positions (hopefully he develops), Vinson doesn't fit perfectly, he was thought to possibly play DB. Eric Berry has the ability to play several positions including qb, rb, safety, cb, wr, and Gerald Jones was recruited to play wr, db, or qb. I'd say UT will do something with those players for sure.

Add UT to his top schools. He was at practice today with one of his teammates and is very impressed.

Remember the whole Gerald Jones being played on Defense fiasco? He was not recruited as a DB. "Offense only."

I do agree, though. These incoming players will do big things for UT.

dang on rivals it says that he had 25 TDs and only 2 INTs last year. surely this isn't right.

when I say that, I mean he was being recruited by other schools to play DB. UT promised to only play him on offense, even though scouts say he'd be a great DB. That's all I was trying to point out.

I think I remember Millwood saying that he told him he could be a star NFL Db. Millwood also said Fla was trying to tell him we were going to switch him to DB when he got here. Stupid liars. Sounds like bammer coaches.
