Robert Duvall, indelible actor from 'The Godfather' and 'Apocalypse Now,' dies at 95. One of the legendary actors of the golden age of Hollywood and not too many left now sadly. He was great in everything i watched in him , especially Lonesome Dove , The Godfather and Apocolypse Now and many many more. I can’t remember if he ever won a an Oscar but he should’ve for a few roles of his. RIP Mr. Duvall.

I think that his Augustus McCrae is as good as anybody has ever done in taking a great character off the page and putting it onto film.

Tom Hagen.

I'd seen him in 50 movies, and then I watch Tender Mercies and find out he can sing.

RIP to one of the GOATs.

i forget the Apostle that was another great movie of his he financed and directed it. Lonesome Dove in my opinion is the greatest western production tv or movie ever made. Him and Tommy Lee Jones were amazing in that.

I loved Lonesome Dove when I was 8 years old and it's aged like fine wine.

Watched him for 50-60 years. Damn.
RIP
I’m 47 so he has always been the old and wise grizzled guy in every movie i’ve seen him in pretty much. He was only 41 in the first Godfather which came out in 1972 and I didn’t know for a long time he was Boo Radley in Too Kill a Mockingbird in his first movie role at age 30. He had a legendary career for sure.

For me he will always be Bill Kilgore in Apocalypse Now! "I love the smell of napalm in the morning!"

I saw this in the theater when it came out and this line immediately stuck out. Went back to school on Monday and by the end of the week, it was a favorite quote among my friends.
