Road Woes

I think it's a legitimate conversation.

This is a young team that is struggling on the road. They've struggled on the road all year.

Last year at Georgia. Had a shot actually towards the end. They came back and played hard that game.

I think that is a part of the problem a young team on the road with no clear cut leader on the team. I would like to see the o-line step up and lead but their worst games have been on the road.

UK is on the road this year. We lost there last time... to a WR playing QB. And we had a better team than this.

The problem is that we have the most passive O-line I have ever seen.

It has been 6 years since we have beaten an away team out of the state of Tennessee and Kentucky.

The last SEC road win that was not Vandy or Kentucky was in 2007 vs Mississippi St.

Edit: We beat South Carolina and Georgia on the road in 2006.

To me, that's so beyond embarrassing I don't have words for it. Absolutely no excuse for that.

Yeah it has been a bad run for us. I thought this season would be our turning point but our road play has been just pathetic this year.

Before we go smashing lightbulbs and kicking the dog... Can we please look at the teams we lost on the road to this year?

#2 Oregon
Florida (In Hindsight, this game was very winnable, but Peterman experiment cost us this one)
#1 Alabama
#9 Mizzouri

I just don't see the logic in saying these are road woes. Without a qb with experience or a head coach with SEC experience, how is anything but what happened expected. Notice, I didn't say accepted, but just because we beat South Carolina doesn't mean we're national champion contenders again right away. These things take time. Just because SC beat Mizzou last week and we beat SC doesn't mean we can beat Mizzou. All kinds of variables to take into consideration when looking at things like common opponents...

Back off the ledge everyone, it'll be OK.

How do you explain the last 6-7 years. I understand the teams we played this year but you cannot ignore the fact that we have not beaten a reputable SEC opponent on the road since 2006.
And if you read the entire thread I said I think the reason we have struggled is the youth on this team.
