Sharpe is a 5 star, 98 rated OL, the number 2 OL and number 10 player in the country, with offers from everybody. Watch his film. Jakob Johnson is a 4 star LB from Fla, 6'4" and 240, Thig thinks he is the best in the country.

Malone is practically a 5 star, as is Reed. We will get at least 4 more 4 stars and above before it is all over. Screw the rankings anyway, they don't make a lot of rational sense anyway. Rivals only ranks the top 20. That is ridiculous. There are all kinds of players who are not ranked in the top 20 of a class, and they become AAs.

Still crazy to think we got more 4-stars in a two week span earlier in the year than all of the 2013 recruiting cycle..

I hate ESPN recruiting for obvious reasons. However, a lot of people, including future recruits just watch SC on NSD and see their rankings. Their rankings get the most national coverage. Are we still #3 over there, and if anyone actually follows their recruiting and rankings, will we finish top 5 there as well? Just curious.

I'd look for myself if I wasn't on mobile.

They have us at #2 behind Bama but ESPN's class rankings are to some degree subjective. It's not as straight forward as the other services. They claim to know every offensive and defensive scheme used by various programs and thus are able to judge whether the class recruited meets the needs and talent level required by the roster in view of the schemes used.

In addition to utilizing a formula, we also place an important emphasis on roster examination as well. After looking at the rankings of players picked up, we also examine how a program addressed its needs, recruited in advance of early NFL departures and if it brought in players whose strengths found during film study fit the team's schemes and philosophies.

On a S/N: They haven't evaluated JUCO recruits yet so with guys like Blair, Pearson, Weatherd, Lambert, we could be #1 on ESPN at the moment an they wouldn't even know it.

Yeah, knew they didn't factor JUCO players, which is beyond dumb. But thanks for the info. I never go there and never will. I love 247 personally, but I think it'd be nice to see us in that top 5 on Sports Center for the exposure.

At the end of the day, if you look, Alabama's 4* recruits are better than our 4* recruits. Not all 4* are the same.

Honestly nobody knows that. Kids peak in HS all the time. Hell there are 3* guys that end up as good or better than 4* guys. Until a kid gets on campus and goes through everything it really is just a guess and hoping he fits your system and continues to develop.
