What? We are actually in position with more than 1 of the Top 100. We are in better shape with the Top 100 players right now then we were at this point last year. Plus they need to see what our new coaches actually put onto the field. That will make a huge difference.

I've already pointed out in a prior thread how the Vols were on the final lists of close to a third of the 2008 Top 100 and they did not get a single one of them. Being on the list don't mean squat muy amigo.

so would it be the same as not being on their list?

West Virginia was not on the published list of Heastie or Boyd. I think UTK has turned into one of those schools that guys will spout out as being on their list based on past highly rated recruiting classes but they have no intention of committing to the Vols. Now that everyone is on a cerfew and what not, I imagine it will only hurt recruiting even more. Fulmer was able to pull a few guys each year based on his reputation as a "players coach" who would let things slide. Now that the heat is on for disciplinary problems, the Vols can no longer afford to offer safe haven for 10 foot tall drunks and rastafarians.

Dont try to speak reason to Hillbilly. Its completely pointless. Its obvious, right now in March, that our recruiting class is going to be horrible.

After a cursory glance at the Rivals '09 100 (I didn't feel up to going through 250 listings) I see 31 verbals. 27 of those verbals are in-state kids. At this point in the game I don't see things playing out any differently than expected. Star kids that know where they want to play pledging to the home school.

Wow. All that from a "down" recruiting year in which UT gets Morley, Faison, and possibly Warren who didn't "count" on the ranking plus a curfew imposed by the players...

You must be right... why it has been two whole years since CPF pulled in the best recruiting class of his career... There's no doubt he's lost his touch. You're such a "realist".

Fulmer has had 2 out of three down recruiting classes and that will show itself on the field over the next 2-3 years. Trying to make last year seem like an isolated incident is futile. Fulmer got credit for Morley in the 2005 class ranking. I will be surprised if Warren plays this year. Faison is already out the first two games. Who knows if he will still be on the team by September?

Why do you continue to try to speak reason with an extremist? Its impossible. Let his ridiculous stand on its own.

2-4 years have been some of his best recruiting classes.

Most will agree that 07 was a great class based on last year's contribution. This year's performance will determine the overall strength of the last four classes, and more specifically the first of those four.
