Just wanted to comment again on the wide disparity between the two top recruiting sites.

Today we are 14 in Rivals #5 in the SEC easily going to catch and pass USCjr.

Today we are 22nd on scout #9 in the SEC and a real possibility of finishing out of the top 15.

I know it really doesn't matter but its always been curious to me how they can be so far apart. If we finish like most of us expect a top 10 Rivals class is assured. A Scout class finished the same way isn't close to a top ten class.....Comments or theories?????:hi:

It don't matter what our class ranks! We could be #1 or #25 signing day. What matters is in 4 years how did this class do!

Agreed. Look at our 2009 Class they were ranked in the top ten by Rivals. Where are they now? How many of those players will be starting against NC State in September?

"The sites, the sites, question is about the desparity of the recruiting sites and how they rank classes, not the players, the sites, I'm talking about the recruiting sites, not the players, the sites."

Thanx yours truly Alan Iverson,,,:banghead2:LOL

Last 4 classes of Arky:16th to 49th on Rivals. Petrino as HC. Result: 11-2 and Top Ten.

Coach 'em up, there's enough talent. Nuff said.

Rivals Team Rank for Tennessee:

2009 - 10th
2010 - 9th
2011 - 13th
2012 - ? (somewhere between 8th and 15th?)

It's time we start winning.

2009 class was the biggest bust in the last decade according to Rivals. I think 9 of the commits from that class are still on the team and only a couple will contribute.

I give up...LOL The question was about the recruiting sites and why they are so far apart in their ranking of talent..NOT about the players for Tennesses last few years recruiting ranking...

Yea, I understood, I just got off topic when looking at the ranks.

I think Rivals puts more resources into it than Scout but they each have different analysts that cover different areas. Comes down to a lot of opinions.

To mr they are sports media. Don't look at either and would never subscribe. I had a close friend who was in the business a few years ago and know how they operate.

Most of the players in that '09 class either defected or were asked to leave the team. We are starting to reach the talent level we need to be at to win SEC titles, we just need the depth. Once that '09 class is gone, we will be where we need to be

Seems to me like rivals and 247 are head and shoulders above the others. I would say rivals is the incumbent head honcho, with 247 being the hungry "up and comer" that is looking to be #1. I dont even look at scout and rarely trust Espn. Rivals is the most reliable.
