What does it matter if Rivals likes us? Regardless of whether they do or don't, neither contribute to winning games.

If Hyams thinks Coach Willie Garcia is here I guess everyone who is just a fan should get some grace.

I very late at night had the names of Uko and Oku interchanged on 3 different posts.

I think Ol JC is going to have a great year. I am looking forward to beating UCLA badly so I can begin to mock the idiots on this site who told me that our OL would suck this year. UCLA has a future first round D linemen in Brian Price who will be held up for the most part by two walk ons. That is the difference in our coaching! Suck it Trebek!

they have played SEC teams the last 4 years.

Theres alot of people who want to sell this performance hort this past week because of the team The Vols played, maybe WKU isnt so unprepared for the team that they faced.

B -- Tennessee's Lane Kiffin (32). The statistics were overwhelming: a 56-point victory margin; 657 yards total offense; just 83 total yards allowed. But the opposition from Western Kentucky was underwhelming. And a scoreless first quarter against a totally outmanned team hints that the return to glory might take a while.

This is from Pat Forde's new weekly wrap up.

He also mocks UCLA in it for being down to SDSU 14-3. When we crush UCLA he will probably say that Lane Kiffin gets a B+ but he should not have allowed UCLA to score those 10 points. It hints at defensive troubles to come.

Don't get your panties in a wad. It's because Devine and Hiller have proved their worth in the past. They've seen Crompton before and they aren't going to change their mind on him just because he had a good game against WKU. Hardesty's career YPC is too low and he's a 5th year senior barely over 1000 for his career. If they keep it up a few weeks they will be there.

After watching almost every game played that was televised (which went over real well at home let me tell you) I realized that if teams had no numbers around them at all you would have Missouri in the top 25 right now and you would have Iowa way way out of it.

It just looked like with some of the people they had on as top 25 offensive coordinators (like the stud at UGA who put up a big 10 on a defense that gave up 33 a game last year) and other list after list there was preseason bias that still exists.

What I mean is that in terms of rankings if a TN based company is giving us no credit now, I do not expect them to give us credit after we beat UCLA badly (which we will).

No one will respect TN until we beat an SEC school. If we keep it close against UF we will earn some respect, and if we then go out and beat everyone in the SEC except Alabama, those lists will be populated with TN players everywhere.

You are judging the quality of a team, after one game, based on their overall performance last year.

The national media is judging UT, after one game, based on their overall performance last year.

Ok, there are a few fans here that are going a little bonkers over the big win over WKU.

Anyone that understands football even a little should know that WKU was one of the worst teams on any field last weekend.

But UT still managed to be tied with them 0-0 in the 2nd quarter.

Respect will return if UT shows well on the field against quality opponents on a consistent basis. That's how it works. You have to earn respect.

If UT is sitting at 5-1 in 6 weeks, there will be plenty of respect along with a national rankings.

That would definitely raise a few eyebrows. At this point I think such an impressive win presents some pressure for UT to have a decent showing in the Swamp to gain any real respect as well.

I think we have the horses to compete with anyone on the schedule with the exception of Florida and Bama. If we had Bama at home I would be tempted to take them off the list.
