MikeHamiltonFan,
We beat a terrible West Ky team that is in their first year of Division 1 football. Crompton is a head case, we all saw that last year. He threw 5 mediocre tds and 2 ints. We were 5-7 last year. Records speak for themselves, respect is earned on the field, not on websites or with stars. America is watching the Vols and will decide. Quit whining
You keep up with the news much do ya? Either that or your spelling is atrocious as evidenced by the way you spelled our new head football coaches name in your username. Quit telling people in here how to act, rookie.MikeHamiltonFan,

College Football Power Rankings
Look through all the lists. Crompton is not anywhere near their QB lists, but the Western Michigan QB who threw 1 TD and 2 picks sure is high.
Devine runs for 120 on freaking Liberty with 18 carries and he is praised on their RB list, while Hardesty and B Brown are nowhere to be found.
I think this is the way it is throughout the media and punditocracy. If we beat UCLA by 30 people will not think we are good offensively, they will say UCLA was bad defensively. CBS should hire someone to praise us full time to beef the Florida game ratings, but most people will expect us to get throttled by UF regardless of what we do against UCLA.

Surely you must realize that you are bemoaning the national media for doing exactly what you did above.I missed Stocker,
I just think people will hold on to their pre rankings for longer than they should.
After watching almost every game played that was televised (which went over real well at home let me tell you) I realized that if teams had no numbers around them at all you would have Missouri in the top 25 right now and you would have Iowa way way out of it.
It just looked like with some of the people they had on as top 25 offensive coordinators (like the stud at UGA who put up a big 10 on a defense that gave up 33 a game last year) and other list after list there was preseason bias that still exists.
What I mean is that in terms of rankings if a TN based company is giving us no credit now, I do not expect them to give us credit after we beat UCLA badly (which we will).
No one will respect TN until we beat an SEC school. If we keep it close against UF we will earn some respect, and if we then go out and beat everyone in the SEC except Alabama, those lists will be populated with TN players everywhere.
If UT is sitting at 5-1 in 6 weeks, there will be plenty of respect along with a national rankings.
