College Football Power Rankings

Look through all the lists. Crompton is not anywhere near their QB lists, but the Western Michigan QB who threw 1 TD and 2 picks sure is high.

Devine runs for 120 on freaking Liberty with 18 carries and he is praised on their RB list, while Hardesty and B Brown are nowhere to be found.

I think this is the way it is throughout the media and punditocracy. If we beat UCLA by 30 people will not think we are good offensively, they will say UCLA was bad defensively. CBS should hire someone to praise us full time to beef the Florida game ratings, but most people will expect us to get throttled by UF regardless of what we do against UCLA.

I'd give it time on Crompton...I do agree with you on Hardesty not being on there.

This isn't disrespect. You guys will have to prove yourselves against legit competition before people start praising your talent.

Well, Noel Devine has proven himself in more than 1 game. So...

Crompton played against probably the worst D1 team this year, if he puts up similar numbers against UCLA expect him to be in the top 25.

Why always with the conspiracy talk? First, ESPN officially has it out for us and now Rivals has no respect for us?!

NEWFLASH: Rivals is based out of Tennessee!!! You think they going to disrepect a team in their own backyard? I mean come on... ever notice how many Tennessee articles are on Rivals compared to other teams?!

...And MOS DEF is still trolling around? Don't you have your own forum to express your ignorant opinions on?!

but seriously, we played WKU. crompton absolutley sucked last year. the guy from western michigan did not and has been praised as one of the better non-heismen QBs. devine did well last year, hardesty was hurt.

its not wonder why none of our guys have been mentioned yet. in good time they will have earned some respect.

You basically just called your own post ignorant. I said the same exact thing you just said, that Rivals isn't disrespecting UT.

They moved Luke Stocker from unranked into the list, Hardesty should have been included after his performance this past week but Crompton needs to have another good showing to prove his worth to make that list. Rivals writes a ton of solid non biased articles on us and they have Berry ranked over Mays like they should.

This is just the way it is in sports (and sometimes in life) - you win, you get respect. The Vols did a lot of losing last year that they have to overcome.

And they can do it.

I missed Stocker,

I just think people will hold on to their pre rankings for longer than they should.

After watching almost every game played that was televised (which went over real well at home let me tell you) I realized that if teams had no numbers around them at all you would have Missouri in the top 25 right now and you would have Iowa way way out of it.

It just looked like with some of the people they had on as top 25 offensive coordinators (like the stud at UGA who put up a big 10 on a defense that gave up 33 a game last year) and other list after list there was preseason bias that still exists.

What I mean is that in terms of rankings if a TN based company is giving us no credit now, I do not expect them to give us credit after we beat UCLA badly (which we will).

No one will respect TN until we beat an SEC school. If we keep it close against UF we will earn some respect, and if we then go out and beat everyone in the SEC except Alabama, those lists will be populated with TN players everywhere.

I still dont get the "Why dont they love us" attitude some of our fans have. Trust me in time they will be giving us all the love you and others crave so much. Its coming and coming fast.

If what I posted above is bothering your nerves then you should probably rethink your life.

Don't bother responding, because I wont.

275 posts in 1+ week? Unreal.

You can quit whenever you'd like. Please.
