How can Rivals.com and Scout.com have us at such different places?

Rivals currently has us listed at 7th in recruiting while Scout has us at 22nd with the same recruits.

Scout was ranking us pretty high until Kiffen left and now they are showing us no respect.

I like scout and the way it breaks down the players but I am starting to think they are west coast lovers and not as independent as Rivals when it comes to certain coaches and teams.

Any thoughts?

Go VOLS!

Neither one of these recruiting services doesn't make a tinkers damn about football anyway. If they had any expertise they would be coaching instead of speculating!

just looked, Scout has us at 21 with 22 commits. Rivals has us at 7 with 22 commits. Espn has us at 11 with 22 commits.

Scout bases their rankings on the average number of stars per recruit. Except for Hunter and Stanley, Dooley is signing players who are only one-, two-, or three-star players on Scout's board. Every time Dooley signs a player, the average number or stars per player and the ranking goes down. When we had only 14 players, our average was higher.

My conclusion is that Scout is garbage. There's no way that we add more verbal commits and stay at the same ranking.

I could understand if we were hovering around the 10-13 range, but to still be at 21-22 (wherever we are) is BS.

Exactly. They were doing pretty good too before this whole lane thing happened. Now it's like they have no respect for the recruiting our program has done. I don't understand what's going on. How does ESPN like us better than anybody, let alone a site that was ranking us in the top 5 a month ago with fewer stars.

Whatever, Im just gonna believe in the coach's decision. If he says the player can do well in his system, he knows best until he proves otherwise.

GO VOLS! Screw Scout.

It's weird how they are both so different.

One thing that struck me as odd is that on my big board Nash Nance is a 5 star. It's so weird the other recruiting services think differently.

They simply haven't updated their rankings. Rivals seems to do that more often.

No, it's not this, I check them 4-5 times a day and they have had us between 20-25 for the past week no matter who we pull. We actually dropped out of the top 25 for a bit even though rivals and espn still had us in the top 15.

ESPN is the only ones who dont constantly update. they use to do their update like once a month. I dont know how much they do now bc I quit checking their stupid list because ESPN hates on us so much. I would like to punch Low in the throat for pretending to be imparcial but always writing bs articles on us bc Hyams is slipping him crappy stories.

Scout and rivals usually update as they add recruits and all of our latest additions are on there and we are still at either 21 or 22, i can't remember. I mean, look at the schools around us on their list, not even close to as good a class as we have verballed so far.

It's bullship, they are just hatin' for some reason. Maybe they have a Fla Alum doing the updating.

I will say this, and I know it doesn't matter that much, and that it's not over until signing day (or after), but... It thrills me to no end to see that we are ranked ahead of USuCk in the Rivals ranking. I know its not by much, but it just warms the cockles of my heart.

With our last coach and his fascination with silent commitments, etc, USuCk will finish in the top 3, possibly in the top spot after all of their silents announce on NSD. I like to see us ranked up there in the top 10 too, but all in all it matters more what the coaches see in these kids.

Wow! I asked the same question in a thread I started yesterday only to find that it had been moved into the recruiting section buried on page three of another thread. Go figure.
