Rivals 2012 Top 100

crazy talk, Talk is crazy

I can partially agree with his statement. FSU WILL have the talent to be BCS National Champs in a few years. The question will be can they be coached trained to that level. I'm don't think so. Not yet. I'm not sold on Jimbo as a head football coach.

This is how I see it. FSU's last two recruiting classes have been nasty. Especially on the defensive side of the ball. This year's (2012) class is shaping up to be a Top-3 recruiting class. That is 3 straight years of Top-5 talent.

Now I agree that in many cases that doesn't matter. We should know. UT's last few highly rated classes have ended up being there worst. Also in the SEC you HAVE to get a Top-12 or Top-10 class almost if you expect to compete because everybody in the SEC can recruit well (LSU, Bama, Auburn, UGA, UF).

FSU is lucky that they play in the not so talented ACC. The ACC is even more down than usual with Miami being not so good. Clemson always underachieves because of no coaching. UNC has talented teams from time to time, but is under investigation currently. Besides VT there isn't a consistently good team in the ACC.

FSU has stockpiled some serious talent these last few years. Although they have holes at QB and WR, they are still the most talented team in the ACC this year and will be the next few years IMO. All they have to do is beat the teams they are supposed to beat and they are basically guaranteed a BCS Bowl.

And in a few years they might make it to the NC. I doubt it, but you never know. BTW sorry for the long post Jay. Wasn't really arguing with you. Just my thoughts.

The only difference between Florida St. and Tennessee is the talent level. I think for both school the same question are being asked. Can the coaches return these once top notch programs to where they was. As everybody knows recruiting classes don't guarantee national championship it helps but doesn't make it a giving. I think Florida St. is closer because of the talent but like everybody is saying is Jimbo Fisher the man for the job only time will tell. The same goes for Tennessee and Dooley I know some are still asking can Dooley really pull what at one point seemed impossible and that rebuild a depleted Tennessee team. He doing a good job but I think this is his last season to ride the Youth excuses.

You're welcome. I would love to get Dorial-Green Beckham. I don't see how we could be stopped with Hunter and him on the field.. 4.43 40 being 6'6" is ridiculous.

Oklahoma, Arkansas, Bama, and Missouri are all in it. I would say OU leads, but he has been quoted as saying he wants to play in the SEC. He is hard to read, but I would bet on a OU-Arky battle.

We could really load up at running back this year. Imani cross has already commited who will most likely be a 4 star. Then there is brian kimbrow from memphis who is the 80th ranked player nationally. A player I like from murfreesboro is I'tavius Mathers who is another possible 3 or 4 star prospect. We also already have tauren, raijon neal, toney williams, and guys coming in like marlin lane and tom smith so the future at running back looks very bright.

Welcome to VN. Nice first post. Actual information is always welcome.

I think Cross will start off as a 3*. Maybe work his way to a 4* by the end of the year. I think we keep Cross and also land Kimbrow. I'm not very confident with our chances with Mathers. He isn't a very big UT fan.

I believe the future at RB is starting to look a little more bright and IMO it starts with Marlin Lane. I think he will be a special RB at UT.

I'm ALL for it. We are supposed to be a powerhouse running school, not a wide receiver U as many have touted recently.

We're supposed to win games, whether it be through the air or on the ground. They don't ask how, they only ask how many. :eek:k:

Horrible list, Geno is much too low and Keith Marshall at #55 is absolutely ridiculous. It is still very early so it isn't a huge deal and Sr season will change it, but still...

I would actually have to agree with you on this. Both are ranked quite low. I could be wrong, but I believe they ranked M.Pender (FSU) ahead of Marshall at RB. That is a joke.

And Geno is much to low. I believe he is the best CB in the nation, but I could be a little biased. Definitely Top-3 CB prospect though and Top-5 DB prospect. I wouldn't be worried about it though. He will be a huge riser as the recruiting season goes on.

Yeah, I can see the argument for Gray, though I don't agree. Pender and Williams are stretches to be ranked over Marshall at best.

I would argue with Humphries over Theus, too. Also, Clemons and Eligwe over Jenkins at LB? Seriously? Probably putting a little too much weight into camps, IMO.

I could go on and on (Shaq Roland all the way at #63?), but like we all said, it is a really early list and the final one won't look a whole lot like it. Except probably at #1.

IMO there were many flaws and mistakes in the Rivals 2012 Top100 as well. I will be posting a little later in more detail on all this.

Well Jenkins is a DE right now so we can't really judge him as a LB....

Agree that Roland should be higher...will be a good get for South Carolina.

Marshall should be in the 30 range IMO.

I have no problem where Geno is ranked...after seeing him in person I would agree with where hes at.
