Rival Players You Respected The Most

I gotcha...

Another player that comes to mind is Robert Edwards. Not sure about ovearll respect, but he definitely got my respect in the game against UT (forget the year). Our defense looked like a bunch of middle schoolers out there trying to tackle him until he got injured.

Yes Robert Edwards was a beast

Unfortunately I had to go there my fresh and soph yr then I moved to white house beginning of the 90's
Then you'll find EJ. Wet to AL and was multiple time AA, consensus as a senior. Multiple pro bowls.

Glen Dorsey wasn't a rival but I loved watching him play. Always liked Prothro and hated how his career ended.

One team that I loved to watch was the Arky team with McFadden and Jones. They were fun to watch and I loved their defense that played straight up man coverage on nearly every play. It was a shame that they had no passing game....

Don't forget Peyton Hillis was on that team too

Spencer Ratliff...

I believe Tim Tebow is the poster boy for exclusionist christians who have completely abandoned love the sinner.

Brandon Burlsworth from Arkansas. He remains one of the best run blockers I've ever seen and was absolutely relentless.

caddilac williams. even though auburn isnt a rival, i freaking HATED playing them when they had that non-human running back tandem

Thanks. I always appreciate having the nightmare of Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown destroying every Vol defender in Neyland during the 04 season go through my head.

I doubt any of you will remember this guy, but I've always been dazzled by his performance in Neyland stadium on a November afternoon in 1981. His name was Prince McJunkins. He was a quarterback for Witchita St. He was untouchable. Even when we pressured him he would make us miss every time. He spent the entire day throwing and running on us. On a 2 point conversion play, we had him tackled and he somehow got rid of the ball and they converted to tie the game up late. The Shockers probably would have won, but we had a very lucky play. McJunkins threw and 85-90 yd TD to future Redskins tight end I forget his name. However the TE, without a defender in site, stepped out of bounds at about the TN 25 yd line. A few plays later, McJunkins made his only bad play by throwing and int to Daryl Harper near the endzone. We drove down after that and a struggling true freshman by the name of Fuad Reviez kicked a last second FG about 35-38 yds to win it. I've always been dazzled over the play of McJunkins in that game.

There are three defensive players of recent times, because I grew up in the early '90s, that I distinctly remember were so frustrating to play against but so impressive to watch in the SEC.
1) Alex Brown, he seemed to set up camp in our backfield every time we played UF when he was there. He was a nightmare of the edge.
2) David Pollock, his stats and highlight reel speak for themselves. I grew up in GA and I couldn't stand him because he was so stinking good for UGA.
3) Karlos Dansby, a freak athlete for Auburn. I can vividly remember his insane "assisted interception" as if it were yesterday.

Even bigger kick in the nuts is that they both committed to UT before going to Aubarn. I wonder how that happened.
