I'm old enough to remember Reggie White playing at UT, but UF and UT weren't exactly rivals back then.

My top 3 would be Herschel Walker, Warrick Dunn and Su Alexander.

Would you consider Florida and Alabama a big rivalry back when Alexander played?

EJ Junior was a bad man. Was a fan because as a little boy I saw him dominate for Maplewood in the Clinic Bowl.

I am old enough to remember a Lawrence Wright playing at Florida. Most respect for a rival however, goes to Wuerffel. Cost us big. Hate him still for what he did to us.

I hate to say it but I respect the hell out of Tim Tebow. Played the game the right way, 110% on every play.

I didn't respect him much, but had to respect the wheels around him in that true title season.

Wuerffel, Brodie Croyle and going back a ways.... Archie Manning (and not because of Peyton either...).

my vote would be wuerffel. it was hard to hate that guy, but i did my best. a recent, albeit not a hugely well known, player i have a great deal of respect for (and who got shafted by the NCAA) is jeremy jarmon.

Florida and Alabama played each other 5 times in the SEC title game during the 90s....I'd say that qualified as a rivalry at the time.

Not so much a rival, but I liked DeAngelo Williams when he was at Memphis. I actually halfway paid attention to Memphis football while he was there just because of his ability to actually make them competitive.

I thought Croyle handled himself well at Bama. I remember hating the daylights out of Jevon Kearse and Kevin Carter because they were so good as well.
