RIP Wes Rucker

This is so terrible. I lost my nephew last Saturday in a bad crash. We had been clinging to hope and faith that he would pull through but he was pronounced brain dead Wednesday. My prayers are with the Rucker Family. There is nothing that can prepare families for tragedy like this.
Sorry for you and your families loss.

Very sad to learn of Wes's passing.Carwrecks have a doom feel to Tennessee athletics and those who follow and care. My sincerest prayers and hope for Ms.Rucker and her family.A go fund me fund would be a nice thought for the children and Ms. Rucker.

This is very sad news. My prayers go out to his family.

Sometimes we simply gloss over the risk we are taking every time we get in a car. Everyone be safe. We are all Vols For Life.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. Also, knowing his wife was expecting this spring and they'll grow up without him. At least they'll know who he was on this earth and what he did.

Again, absolutely tragic 😥 RIP. My prayers go out to his family.

This one has really hit hard. Wes was part of the tapestry of Tennessee sports to me. I always looked forward to his live tweeting commentary during games. He was always honest and had great wit. Seemed like a great guy as well.

Not sure what the Go Fund Me total is now, but it was rapidly approaching the set goal a short while ago. So Volnation will just blow right past it as usual.
We never fail to answer the call when one of our own is in need. I am humbled to be among you.

Condolences to Mr. Rucker's family. Probably my favorite of all the people who covered Tennessee sports. Seemed like a genuinely great person. May you shelter in the palm of the Creator's hand, Wes, and may the last embrace of the mother welcome you home.

Like most here, I always thought Wes was a professional and a great reporter. I never met Wes personally, but I marched with his wife in the Pride of the Southland back in 07. I can’t imagine what she is going through right now.

It’s not a go fund me but a meal train fundraiser has been set up to help so far.

Please donate if you feel inclined.

RIP Wes
Please remember his parents and his brother and sister also. I know they to are heart broken.
